I have a plug directly outside by bathroom so I plug it then the cord is normally long enough. Also plugs aren’t in the bathroom because the plugs explode if water gets in or you’ll get electric shock. I just do everything in my room.

Hearing you talk about food in London is breaking my heart, so here are some suggestions nearish you - Spitalfields food market (loads of con sessions like hand pulled noodles and momo) - Rinkoff’s Bakery (family run baked goods, huge cronuts!) - For better pies, find a Pieminister! - Tom’s Pasta in Hackney Downs - Jolene Bakery (great pastries and breakfasts) - Sweet Thursdays (Neapolitan pizza) - Escocesa (authentic tapas made with fresh seafood from Scotland) - Rasa (vegetarian Indian food) - Xi’an Impression (Chinese street food) I’m very passionate about the food here in London so honestly happy to recommend more if you’d like!

@UkjACk3005 ай бұрын
Lol what? I live in Germany and always had electrics in my bathrooms in every flat I've lived in. You shouldn't drop your hair dryer (or toaster lol) in your bath tub while you're in there but otherwise you should be fine. I'm genuinely curious what's the worry here just having some electrics away from water?
@oat69milk5 ай бұрын
@@UkjACk300 its illegal in the uk to have sockets unless they are 3m away from the bath or shower!! not really sure why other countries allow it but uk have a much higher voltage than usa for example!! we also do not have light switches inside of the bathroom they must be outside

i think it's about the electricity circuit. 🤔 maybe in england they don't have the safety switch off like we do in germany? or they are generally different idk. 😅
@UkjACk3005 ай бұрын
@@oat69milk Oh, yeah, I remember. The UK has a very different circuit system than Germany for example. It just works different. While we have a central safety system (I think it's called a breaker?) that switches everything off if sth is wrong, you guys have that kinda with every plug. However, light switches are generally outside and plugs are neeever close to the tub or shower, at least not as far as I remember having stayed in a lot of places.

About the eggs: Why don´t they refrigerate eggs in Europe,...... One, various countries in Europe vaccinate chickens against salmonella beforehand. In addition, eggs are not washed like they are in the United States, so the protective cuticle is left on the shell intact. As a result, eggs can be stored at room temperature instead of needing to be refrigerated.

It’s a no to using the extension lead in the bathroom in the UK. Our electricity voltage is much higher than rest of Europe, Canada and The US. Illegal to have plugs in bathrooms here, only the shaver plug socket. A friend wanted to have her washing machine in the bathroom as part of house renovation and even after saying they put the plug in the hallway and come through the wall, Building Control said no way to that.
@OliviaZuber-ef3wj5 ай бұрын
I don’t live in London but I searched up that having plugs in the bathroom increases electricity shock and it is illegal to have a plug closer than 3 meters to your shower. Hope this helped! 🇬🇧

LONDON FOOD TIPS: I don’t actually live in London, I live in Wales which is a couple hours away but I think when it comes to tourists saying that the food here is bad, it is mainly due to them trying British Cuisines which us British people grew up on so obviously we have more an acquired taste. I would 1000% stay away from the British food and start getting more of the Cultured food that makes up 70% (I’m guessing) of the restaurants here in the uk. CAMDEN MARKET, SOHO and CHINA TOWN are good places for cheap, tasty eats. Looking on TikTok is also a good place to find good food in London!!!

Just a quick observation, I wouldn't run an extension lead into your bathroom. The Volts in the UK are 240, you wouldn't want to be blow drying your hair if steam is about, you'd get a shock and chucked across the room. The Voltage is double that of North America. You wouldn't need to blow dry your hair if that happened, it would be on fire ;)

The electrical current in the UK is much stronger than in America/Canada so it's not safe to have plug sockets in bathrooms over here. You might find a shaving plug socket for a 2 pin shaver/toothbrush plug, but that current is a lot lower than regular outlets

This video confused me. First of all, you keep saying you moved to London alone. But you are living with a good friend, so that's not alone. And also, you didn't MOVE there: you're just staying there for six months. It's like a long, working vacation. Also, you said you are starting a new life in London, but again, you're only there for six months. That's not really starting over - it's an extended trip or working holiday. I feel like you are indulging in a bit of dramatic hyperbole! lol I was in London for two weeks last year and all the food I had was amazing! I didn't eat at IKEA, but at well-reviewed restaurants. You should at least try Borough Market: tons of food vendors with all kinds of food and it was amazing. We also had great food in Chinatown, at Dishoom, and from Fortnum and Mason, and Harrods. We actually never had a bad meal while we were there.

Great that you are experiencing a move to another country! Wish you every blessing in your new apartment. The textured bed “sheet” is actually a bed cover. I advise getting a flat bed sheet to put over the fitted sheet and under the bed cover. This would give you the comfort you desire. Also, have you thought about moving the desk in your bedroom to the right side of the bed next to the window to have a more pleasant work space. You could put a mirror on the wall above the desk to use for makeup and drying your hair. Just a thought! Have a great time exploring London.
