I agree 100%. I watch your channel because I think you were so unlucky with your visa. I am watching so you can earn a penny or two. How about you build narrow stairs from the attic. Under you build drawer’s, shelves and cupboards. Have open shelves so the light hit the kitchen. Search for tiny houses on youtube, you will get a lot of good ideas. Vi have a wood ladder on our cottage and I wish we had known about all the built in stairs/storage ideas back then. The barn looks great.

Definately a sense of calm coming through in this one - looks like you're starting to look after yourselves instead of us lot - exactly as it should be ♥️☺️ ps Just having those string lights around the mezzanine already shows how cozy it's gonna be, even so early in..Love it!

Your last video was heartbreaking. I'm really rooting for you guys, wishing for your visas to come through so you can start growing veggies and raising animals. Don't worry about content; the best of them are all about you overcoming the obstacles and sticking to your dreams. You have a lot of work to do, but the barn is now becoming a home. I love the sense of community, and the concern of your neighbors and fellow youtubers like Nick helping out. He's a great guy, and seems to spend more time on other people's projects than his own. Hang in there, and believe in yourselves! Steve in New York. By the way, my grandparents fixed a similar road with culverts and gravel, although the gravel slowly sinks in and you have to add more once in awhile.

I think that having the house to use makes it feel more like a home, rather than like you are camping on your property. I also think that by using the space you're going to be able to get a feel for what works best inside. You have to also take the time to enjoy your place, not easy when you have loads to do, but healthier for your mindset. 👍❤️

There is so much more room inside the barn than I had imagined, and its so light too. Remember the renovation is a marathon not a sprint, it's okay to slow down and walk when you need to and even stop once in a while. Anyone who says otherwise has never attempted what you guys are doing. 🫶🏻

You can absolutely see the positive energy flowing out of you two in this video. You’re both full of smiles & I love the way you called it the house instead of the barn. It’s like it’s moved forward from a project you’re working on, to your home - hopefully that makes sense. Do what you guys need to do for you. Not for an algorithm or to keep an audience happy. We’ll be happy regardless, because we watch the channel for you rather than what you guys do. Again, hopefully that makes sense. Keep smiling & look after yourselves. Take care. Robert (& Laura).

You’re a really lovely young couple and you deserve to do well, especially after all the visa nightmare stuff you have had to put up with - Portugal should realise that people like you are an asset they need with so many empty houses, and not make you have to jump through so many hoops all the time. Regarding your road issue last video (bloody nightmare) once you are able to get a load or two of gravel down and redirect the water Chanel around the problem areas, I’m sure you will have less problems. That’s quite enough of me waffling on so sending you positive vibes and a whole lot of love ❤️❤️❤️🌟

It's the sign of a home. The bed? The dining table? No, it's the kitchen drawer full of oddly shaped things that are guaranteed to arrange themselves so that you can't open the drawer. Congratulations - that's a home! More seriously, it's always a pleasure to see you making progress.

Figuring out the flow of water over the land is a big priority that tells you where the best place to dig a pond that you can use the water for the future for all of your needs. The pond can stop the water from leaving your land and really would make a difference for so many plants you need to water.

Hi Laura and Dan, nice to see you again! Don't worry about the content of the videos, shoot, post and that's it. What a relief, to see you both looking a lot more at ease and smiling again 🙂 Have you considered sowing a winter cereal crop ? You already have olives (and potentially oil) and fruits on the land, but a cereal crop gives you the means to bake and if you added winter beans you would also have future protein source. Easy to do, and not much maintenance effort required. Looking forward to watching your progress, as and when you feel like sharing. Strength to your arm(s) 🙂

Hi, kids 👋🏼😊 So nice that you've moved more of your things into the cottage, it proves how homey and quite roomy the space is. I can easily imagine your kitchen, lounge, arts & crafts, dining/entertaining, snoozling zone. It's just so charming really, young'uns living in their granny cottage ages before they become grannies, adorable❣ Yeah, no worries, do projects that makes sense for your most immediate needs, not for YT viewers entertainment (bah!).

Stress of Visas etc. And the Weather always gets us down when things are going Our way in life. Remember this; "What doesn't break us, makes us Stronger". Not only have you grown as a couple, but you have Proved that with a good work ethic, & determination you can put your hand to anything. So lovely to see you back. Please don’t fret about your content, I’m sure I speak for many in that we follow you! Not because of some algorithm. You’ve now got enough done to make the barn home! 🥂 🎊 🎉 that’s such a milestone and I am proud of you both for that, so 🙌🏼. You mentioned a few things that are really important now as yes you have more space, but you still want to make the most of it. You mentioned the table and I couldn’t help thinking about a fold down table between the mezzanine posts that folds up to the wall? Perhaps even a double fold down just for entertaining? ….. stop me before I get carried away!! Lastly there’s something else that’s special about moving into the barn that’s good for your mental health. I know there’s loads you still want to do with the barn, but it’s home. You can go to work on your patch and come home to switch off. I would consider getting a small sofa just so you’ve got a second place to sit and chill when that’s all you need. Well done guys x

To give more floor space you could remove one beam from bed frame to floor, then install a new beam from the support beam across the bed frame to the wall. If it could be done you’ll have much more options for furniture, just a thought, you do what’s right for you. All the best.

A suggestion would be investing in a little British Berkefeld water purifier. As far as heating goes a small 5kw stove with flue running up the inside. More than sufficient, easy to install & efficient. I’d be tempted to wrap a nice coil of 10mm copper pipe around a section of it too, that way you can utilise it at a later stage for heating water for a shower/sink/bath when you have a fire going in the colder months. Just thinking out aloud. Nice update.

I’ll continue watching your channel no matter what you are doing, so please don’t ever worry about that. This is one of my favourite channels. Sending lots of love and good wishes from Aus.

Great to see you guys make the change and appreciate the relaxed realness in this vid (a glint of contentment in both your eyes), if I was a rich man- I would swing some your way to assist but alas, It's struggle street in Aus. An old sailor imparted the secret to Happiness to my father, which was then passed to me- try to accomplish one thing a day no matter how small the task. Then a fathers advise that has personally helped me- Stop looking at all things needing to be done, turn around a see all the things you have accomplished. Cheers and thankyou for sharing your journey for us vicarious viewers :)

É preciso tempo pra aprender a desacelerar. Boa semana

Have loved following your journey. A lot of talking recently. I can’t wait to see what your getting up to rather than hearing what you are getting up too or going to . Take us away to Portugal. Show us some of the area you live in. Show us your experience with nature ect. Show us how wonderful it is there. What has happened with your outside kitchen? Show us you using it. What is the sunrise like ? Or sunset? Do you have a view? Take us on a walk as well as the building projects. Yes, I use a whisk many times through the week for mixing gravy or making a cheese sauce, for baking cakes.
