I love your Uni videos!! For a year 13 who's hoping to get into Uni Halls next year, your videos are so insightful :)) I was wondering if your floor was a non-alcoholic floor? If so, was the experience very different to what a regular floor would be like in terms of social vibes?

awww i am so so glad they could be of use to you 🥹 i am SO PUMPED for your first year ahead 😍 my floor was non-alc and honestly i would argue my floor was the most social in the entire hall and absolutely no difference whatsoever !! 🤣 people do tend to find non-alc floors more “quiet” and less rowdy but in the end, it’s very unpredictable what kind of vibe you get just as it’s a new group of people each year but generally you will end up meeting people across different floors there will be people you get along with and others you don’t. just honestly life ay! if it helps, i’m an RA this year on a non-alc floor and my residents are so so fun and energetic ~ if you’re worried about that, seriously don’t!! 🫶🏼🫶🏼

hihi !! i stayed in a first year hall at uni (all of the first year halls are catered) so that meant we had kitchen staff who had meals prepared for us for breakfasts, lunches and dinners. brunches on weekends instead of breakfast + lunch. if you need a lunch or late meal (in case you miss the dinner hours) ordered, that can be organised : ))))

Also if you ask you can move in a day or two earlier to avoid the stress🧠🤯

hi yes!! i just found it to be a more homely place in my opinion though i only went to check out waipa and unihall and that’s why i liked unihall better. all of the halls are real good - i just felt like unihall would suit me better though i know o’rorke has a lovely community vibe to them as well!! 🫶🏼

Hi, I’m currently torn between waipa and unihall towers for next year. I was originally set on waipa but after visiting it I think I liked unihall bigger rooms but I’m still considering about the new facilities and better food at waipa 😅. Would you recommend unihall over waipa?

heyyy!! that’s so cool that you visited the halls ~ i assumed you visited for open day? mind you i was a first year at unihall last year and am currently actually an RA at unihall this year so when i say i recommend unihall there is potential for bias 🤣 in all seriousness, i applied for unihall for first year having visited both unihall and waipa but favouring unihall for the culture. in my opinion, with waipa being so big it’s often you’ll find a bigger sense of community at unihall. you’re more likely to know people within the hall and that’s what i went for. waipa is definitely awesome for its facilities and food but in the end i’m sure you’ll enjoy your first year experience regardless of which hall you’re at! hopefully that helped? 😄

heya! i just go to uni here but it’s real easy to find answers like that - just search up the uni name and whatever it is you’re looking for ☺️ i did that and i think it came up with the right results so i think they do offer it! but don’t take my word for it in case i am wrong 😇👍🏼 all the best

hello olia! i cannot stress enough how much i have enjoyed and loved living at halls. i have had the best experience you could possibly get and i absolutely adore my floor so much. it's hard to tell what you will get at the hall but a big part of it requires you to step out a little bit and just get involved. so the price for staying at halls is quite pathetic but i personally find it worth it for the different experience that you're unlikely to ever get again. i'm studying a bachelor of global studies and science conjoint majoring in global politics & human rights and psychology 🥰 feel free to ask me if you have any more questions or whatnot : )
