Our Electric Cooperative where I live will dump a load of the shredded tree limbs they cut along powerlines if you ask them to. They dumped this pile in front yard about a year ago, I know it's been through at least one summer. I'd have to look back at my video to figure out just when they did dump this load, that's a good thing about making the videos, it helps document when I do stuff around here. The chipped shredded wood heats up when it begins to decompose. I must tell you I will never have them dump it so close to my house again. The gnats and other bugs are an atrocious nuisance while it is decaying. Also this load has huge big long branches mixed all in it. When I asked why it wasn't chipped up finer I was told that their equipment for that load had dull blades that needed sharpening or replacing. The piles I have in my back field that came from when I had some trees removed, they chipped up for me, those piles are much finer; no large pieces of wood. I have been putting the large pieces aside from this pile in the front yard, I'm saving them for kindling to use in my wood burning heater this winter.

@@Maggie-Gardener-Maker great, ours does the exact same. I received a mountain of wood chips in July😊.
