Stainless steel rust with salt in time what you want is aluminum if you don’t wash stainless with fresh water it will eat it up I had found out the hard way and it’s cool that there are still people who care that’s awesome 😎

Glad all went well, I’m moving soon too, but 5 hours away. Do u think a 20 gallon reef aquarium will be much easier? It’s packed with coral. And I really don’t wanna leave the coral at lfs cause where I’m moving the selection of coral is slim pickings. Let me know some tips. And ur community of people there is amazing. Glad they helped u.
@PuffDaddyReef4 жыл бұрын
Are you able to get a tank upgrade and start setting that up at the new location? That will be the easiest if you can get a new tank running and just transfer the coral. If not, it should still be doable. You need to pack each coral individually in a separate bag just like when you get them in the mail. I recommend selling half your coral if you can so if a catastrophe happens you are not out of luck. Make all fresh sea water for the new setup. Get it up to temp before transferring the coral. Get help, even for 20 gallons you will need the extra hands.

Ya I’m thinking of setting up a new tank before I get there permanently. But I have a zoa garden going about a 1 foot and a half long full of different zoas. What should I do there? Couldn’t I use a car adapter for plugs and put a heater in a tub with the coral and should be fine? Also could throw in a air bubbler for circulation?

What kind of white board is that, that you have around the tank stand?

I want to move so badly but dread moving my reefs (again). My last move was about as bad as possible 7hr+ distance AND 6 weeks of waiting to move into new house. I kept various smaller tanks and buckets in my parents bathroom for 6 weeks. Obviously lost a lot but not so much in the initial move, it was the waiting to move in that killed me (my livestock).

Hello from Indonesia.. How are you, hope your moving process doing well for your shark tank. I have a question... Is it safe to put bamboo shark in reef tank? Coz sometimes i put dosing like trace element, amino, reef ab+ etc. And how to teach this baby shark to eat.. Hope you can read and share your experiences to me.. Thanks
@PuffDaddyReef4 жыл бұрын
The trace elements should not bother the shark if they are dosed at normal levels. There is a risk that the shark will eat shrimp, small snails, and crabs. I have found that they really like scallops. Try that to entice it to eat. Then feed a mixture of raw shrimp, scallops, and squid. They also will take certain types of see worms. It may take a newborn a few days to eat. That is ok. I would feed every other day. Do not feed too much or the shark will start fasting. You can also use live shrimp to entice it, hold them under it's nose with tweezers. The shark will increase the bioload of your tank so make sure you have lots of filtration so the coral are not affected. Good luck!

What is the material of the base that you put at the bottom of the tank? What’s the reason to put that base? Is it because you don’t use sand and don’t want the rocks to crack the glass?
@tomthebomb31894 жыл бұрын
Nah a lotta ppl do bare bottom and no base just look at BRS they use flat foundation rocks from Marco but the base is prob to provide the natural sand color look it's easier to siphon then sand.so that's why they do bare bot
