Moving isn't always easy. It's a physical job to chuck everything out, but then the emotional side of it all comes crashing down when you start to think about all the memories that were made in it. Life moves on, it doesn't stop for anything, but I am learning to take this time to cope.

Hi, I’m Nico Murillo, and I recently got laid off from Tesla on 4/15/2024. I was a Production Supervisor, and was with the company for 5 years. I started in 2019, as an entry level Production Associate. After getting laid off, had to make the decision to sell the house. I decided to sell most of my belongings and move into my 2021 Tesla Model Y. When I worked at Tesla, I slept in my car on work days to avoid my 3 hour round trip commute time from Lathrop, Ca to Fremont, Ca. I created a platform in my trunk with the use of Michaels, Home Depot products, and a soft mattress, where I now call my home. Living in my car enables me to save money, and invest it. I am documenting my journey to financial independence by 2029. My hope is that by sharing my own personal highs and lows along this (sometimes) wild journey, you might be inspired to look into financial independence. Maybe one day i'll see you at GNC in Stoneridge Mall Pleasanton, Ca. I currently work there now as a supplements store manager. I am off Sundays and Wednesdays though.
