Such stress! Ryan moving after such a short time in the apartment and then loosing your beloved grandma. Remember to treat yourselves kindly to make up for this because this sort of stress really isn't good for us. I wouldn't be so sure about having a stick shift being a security measure - here in the UK most cars are manual.

I work at a specialists office and I’ve always wanted to get back into sign language to be able to speak with the patients that are deaf and/or mute. I knew a lot in sign language when I was younger but lost it all growing up. I love watching your videos and watching you sign to see a “normal” person signing everything. (By normal I mean in “normal” conversation. Without watching a how to video on how to hold your hand correctly or how to sign this way or that) thank you so much for these videos. I really love them.

My car is a straight drive as well, it is a Hyundai and I had to special order it because I wanted a straight drive and they didn't have any on the lot...lol! Lol to stick shift. I have been deaf since I was 4. Recently cochlear implanted, I'm now thirty. Anyway, my 2nd, 3rd and 6th car was stick shift, my mom taught me. I miss it, I drive a prius for the commute and a van for the family(4 kids). Yes! I know his worst nightmare, it was mine too. My wife and I learned the hard way about roommates too. Bought our current house so we didn't have to deal with roommates anymore.

It's hard to move in with friends, you might think you know someone really well as a friend, but it is really hard once you actually live under the same roof. And I truly believe that down falls like this is a lesson to be learned and you just gotta look forward. I'm so sorry for your obaachan passing. My grandmother was my best friend it was really hard and still is since she passed, but like Ryan says, just keep moving forward. I'm not sure what you believe about the afterlife but September 23rd is my grandfathers birthday too. He's been gone for many years and I would like to think your obaachan was welcomed into heaven during the party with God and all his guardian angels there to greet her. What way to arrive when a party is going on? When I get sad thinking about my loved ones who have passed I like to think they are all together up there and keeping a close guarded eye on the rest of us down here on Earth.
