the work kagan has been putting in is really starting to show. The monitors are so tame and are willing to be handled. It's great watching the results of all the hard work you guys are putting in.

When you move the Dumerils into their permanent enclosures I think there should much more foliage, as they come dense forests, with high humidity. This might be why the male hangs in the water so much.

The fast moving, twitching and constant stoping behaviour looks very normal to me. I live in France and all common lizards here are moving exactly like that.

Glad to hear one of the albinos may be going to a new home!! Look at how friendly those little Dumerals are. It makes all the difference in the world to get a baby water monitor from someone who spends time socializing them to people so any buyer who gets one of yours will get a well started well mannered little dinosaur 🦕 You get what you pay for!! 🔥🔥

A suggestion for the snapping turtle pond, would be good to put in some sort of riparian plant that can sit in the water and have foliage above to shade some of that direct Florida sun. Doesn't take a lot of foliage to help filter and make the light less intense, and that will help with water quality, temp, and algae.

The dumeral pair will settle in soon enough. The male seems to be over excited. You do the right thing as to just give them time and space to find their way. Can't wait for the update to see how they are getting on in their new enclosure.

be aware some monitors become aggressive when exposed to natural sunlight (Handling with care )Place hide boxes at both ends of the cage.

Mine don’t like fish either they love roaches the best then crayfish quail eggs I got mine from him also. I brought one of mime outside he got the wiggles I’m thinking of making a window box attached to there enclosure so they can get use to the outside on there own. Was also thinking of a catio that attaches to the house

Always a good day when we get a video! Jerry may I suggest an overflow for the snapping turtle tub, you can thread it to the outside with either an elbow and a pvc pipe at height of water or a T with a shut off valve straight out for draining and a pipe at height.

Can you do waters for the monitors that need more water a water feature like Blake’s baby caiman’s from( Blake’s exotic animals ranch) it’s a cement fabric from Aquascape that forms a small pond and it can be drained and scrubbed out but I don’t believe it has a filter or anything fancy, it’s about a foot deep, he just throws some water hyacinth in it.

Or use a plastic window box as a water area for the mid sized babies. They make them in different sizes and many of them are not tapered so would be stable. GE silicone is aquarium safe to block drain holes.

He is likely smelling the previous monitors or iguanas. They are likely checking for predators since they are babies. Why not build an enclosure around that land tub thing for the larger babies to grow up by making the enclosure longer to give them more land space for hides and food dishes with the branches, etc. Once the bunnies are moved, put an elevated rack with those enclosures in the corner of the play area. This gets them off the driveway. Not sure how to make it work for the winter though, not thought it through enough. I have seen slightly thinner but longer containers that would allow them to swim instead of just soak that could be used in your current enclosures. Have you thought about the the buy me a coffee app? Some of us would like to help you out as best we can. 😊

Love seeing the little ones! Curious as well as to what caused that motion in the male. Not sure if they do that when they don't feel safe in the wild, like a slow moving chameleon/mantis etc. Agree it shouldn't be mating head twitching, it was his entire movement. Cool to see!

I live fairly close to you Jerry and it was 96 & feels like 107 today. Yuck. As you probably know, their water won’t be much help because in a dark, small to medium tub, it’ll be in the 90’s. I’d put palm fronds over the “wu-derr”. Sorry, couldn’t resist. For some reason I like the way you say “water”. Lmao!🦎❤️🦎
