That's really helpful. Especially about internet, "seasonal" villages, renting long-term before rushing to buy, and driving safety. The info is way better than the video and audio quality :). I'm looking forward to your other videos.

@@island.odyssey I appreciate your warm comment, Rose :) Thank you for your wishes and for being open to questions. Where is the best place to ask you some questions about the main living costs in Crete? + about the possibilities to open accommodation renting business. I understand it might vary but I would like to know what you think based on your own experience :)

Where will you find a bed n breakast up in the mountains, Rose? Better just go slow. You see lights from oncoming traffic from a long way off. There are not too many accidents with foreigners at night, I think.
@island.odyssey

Well, you will be surprised at the bed and breakfast, that some of our friends have stayed at, even if you drive up the mountain, you are usually not too far from the next village so it is possible to find a place to stay for a night.

Hi, apart from the tips I have given, like being careful on the roads while driving here in Crete, I can't think of anything else, but maybe if you ask me questions that you might have, I will be able to advise you.

@@island.odyssey thanks for the advice, I am actually currently looking to rent a place outside the city of Chania. Do you know of any websites or local real estates that rent furnished houses ? Would love to know if there is one.

@@polasalay9852 Yes, I would recommend one called dream catchers, it's run by a British couple and they are super reliable and professional, just Google dream catchers Crete, you can also check out the one called euroland crete

Which areas by the beaches have good internet and are open all year round. I’m only interested in renting
@island.odyssey
@island.odyssey 4 жыл бұрын
Well, any place in the Chania area would have a strong internet connection, places like Kalives, Akrotiri, Souda those are open all year round, and you have access to all services like Banks, Post Office, And even though some cafes will be closed in the winter, there a few that stay open all year.

I would love to move to Crete, and I think I would fit right in as an Orthodox Serb., However, I don't think there are jobs in Crete for foreigners, and the only thing that makes sense for survival there (unless you are a millionaire) would be to live off the land, and perhaps fish. That being said, you would need at least a few hundred thousand dollars to get started..., If there is a better chance, or different opportunity, then yes, perhaps there is a possibility.
