In Berlin we spend per Adult nearly 7 Euros everyday for cooking warm dinning at home. Mix with Organic Supermarket every week for 2 Adults needs around 120 including dressings or oil so on.

Thanks Rose for taking the time to post this very informative video. Great to hear that the cost of important costs are very reasonable in Crete. The low property tax was a nice surprise that is an expense that is getting very high in many countries. Property tax for a 3 bedroom house in many parts of Long Island New York USA for comparison is typically $12,000 per year.

Your videos are great and offer important information for us all looking to relocate to Crete. Keep up the good work! Hopefully we can retire to Crete 2-4 years time - the sooner the better :)

You’re awesome. Thank you so much for this information. When you say “really cold”, how cold does it get in Chania?

Hello! I’m in NJ USA, and last year my wife and I decided to build in Akrotiri Chania. We are planning on doing a 1 year sabbatical with our 2 kids 6/9. We spent many summers there and I agree with much of what you shared. I guess the real reality check is the energy costs. Any idea what private schooling goes for for kids my age?

We currently live in Atlanta and are planning also to look in Akroteri. We are not building but I'm still curious what you find out. Good question.

Hi Pamestin, very interesting information. I live in central Florida, USA, but I would like to retire in a few years to Crete. I am not interested in buying, but renting, and I have seen very picturesque little towns or vilas in the mountains not far from Chania. Those mediterranean country style places seem to me ideals for my need of rest and emotional peace. Crowded and big cities have never been my goal. Do you think the cost of living in places like Gavalachory (just as an example) could be cheaper than that in Chania? My budget wouldn't be more than 1,700.00 american dollars per month. Greetings, Ricardo.

Of course, the cost of living in small villages will be lower than living in the cities, one thing you need to keep in mind is that you must have a car, because public transport could be a challenge.

When you ramble on and on I just can't stay interested. Maybe that's why you have so few viewers.

@@eliassays First, I'm not the least bit interested in getting subscribers, that's why I don't produce videotapes. She has had only 80 upvotes since she produced this boring tape 14 months ago; if that's your bar for success, then it's a very low one. Good luck to you in whatever you do.
