The weirdest thing throughout this pandemic is seeing the videos and pictures of people just acting "normal" and having get-togethers. It's really hard for me to process as it sounds like it's hard for you as well. It makes me feel like I'm living in an alternate universe or something. I think you should take baby steps in terms of travel because I know how much you love it. If you're being told you can travel, then you should go for it if you feel safe to do so :)

@@naya6593 okay keep planning! You will love it! Are you going to visit any other cities? You can take the tube from Heathrow into the city. It was about an hr ride from Kings Cross station to Heathrow (direct). Please feel free to message if you have questions. You can get the Oyster card for transportation at the airport. I stayed at a hotel within walking distance to King’s Cross station and got around the city easy once I figured the tube situation. If you’re a foodie I would definitely go to Borough Market! 🤗 it will be worth the wait!!

Yes. I was planning to travel to UK this summer but COVID put a stop to that. Now as an American I probably can't go anywhere until 2021.. I work as an agency nurse and the facilities here are requiring us to be tested twice weekly.. That test is uncomfortable and I have to endure it twice a week in order to keep the bills paid

I was suppose to go to Canada on a work and holiday visa, but they only allow people in with job offers at the moment. Always wanted to move to the UK for a bit so I think now is the time. I also like how much more cautious they are being over in the UK compared to where I live.. However I think I will look into Bristol or Manchester first.. even though I love London! The self isolation requirement depend on the country one is traveling from (whether the country is on the U.K. travel corridor list). I arrived from a country in the Caribbean a few days ago that is on the travel corridor list. I was in a Tesco yesterday and none of the employees were wearing a mask.

Yeah man, it's going to be awhile. Apparently they are working on an airbridge between US and UK, as well as Germany out of the NY airports. So if that comes into play, there will be no quarantine required, just testing. We have it super strict here in Tri State area and at first I was refreshed to see how many things were open in London, I've also very cautious about the fall being the best time to go hang out. I'm not impressed by the videos I see of people just out and about and in people's faces in London. It really bothers me when someone wears no mask in crowds. Luckily I work from home, and decided not to go to school this fall. Summer brought some freedom, but come Fall, people should think twice about indoor bars and just go back to picking up food and geting a circle of friends that are also strict about their covid hygiene.

In Saudi Arabia our borders are literally closed since march. In the beginning of the pandemic they let anyone who was not a citizen return to their countries and let saudis back home. then closed the borders. They are now allowing students to leave if they get special permits from the government. and people with special cases. but to the general public all borders are closed. It's crazy to see people traveling and acting like everything's normal when we are literally stuck here without any set date as to when they'll allow international flights. They only allowed flights for one city in saudi to another last month..

What about elementary through high schools? Are they virtual for the most part? Everything else seems very similar to Pennsylvania restrictions except the dining time limit at restaurants; that doesn't exist, but what DOES, is cocktails to GO! Odd. Gone are the days where you can go into a bar or restaurant and order a cocktail and just have a drink. Now you have to order a drink with food and only drink it while you have food, otherwise you need to take it home. Weird and it seems unsafe but people are actually acting civilized 🤷🏽‍♀️. And as far as public transportation, I think I'd be getting a car.... ASAP.

You have to have a "valid reason" (ie job lines up, school etc). But there are some ways to make it through for leisure travel (in the UK at least, EU is more strict).

I'm pretty sure the travel is from point of origin, your from London (You South London Girl) you should be clear to travel to the EU, but as countries are 'spiking' with covid restriction are changing by the day, Dropped my daughter at Gatwick yesterday shes gone to Kos in Greece for a week, had to fill in forms before travel, tested the Greece end (and at Gatwick) but travel to Greece Monday, dont need much of that, it's changing daily (@Simoncalder Twitter, Travel correspondent very up to date) also on facebook & insta. you should try Boxpark in Croydon, short train ride from Clapham, will make you feel at home because of all the Tall Buildings (bit like the States), Masks are madatory but not 'enforced' so as not the make the 'vulnerable' with a pre-existing condition to feel be-littled (asthma, COPD etc) there are expectations to wearing masks, check goverment website.

I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. I had multiple family members in another state get COVID-19 as well. I was supposed to go to Portugal this summer for a month, but this pandemic has changed that. I'm just going to see how this pans out in 2021 by the beginning of the summer. I have also seen people online having large parties in person over in Atlanta and in L.A. and I was shocked. Even in Wuhan, there was a massive music festival that went on that did not have any social distancing or masks. I really wonder how all of this will go down. I think everyone does.
