Before you do your Chicago vs New York comparison, you should spend some time outside of Wicker Park. It is a big city with lots of diversity. PS there are a lot of offices outside of the loop.

@@claudiavasquez1368 haha yes I took voice lessons for like 10 years! But I haven’t really kept it up! I still do musical theatre as a hobby by seeing shows :) maybe one day I would perform again for fun! I’ve also been wanting to take a tap dance class

I worked in nyc and also grew up going since most of my fam lived there- what’s your reasoning for living in manhattan while working in nj, especially as you’re in person every day? Do you ever think about the money you’d save living somewhere closer to work? Just a thought!

@@lexi6115 I looked at the rents in NJ and it really wasn’t that much cheaper! It was also my dream to live in Manhattan. I didn’t move all the way here to be in NJ! And I’m only in the office 3 days a week right now so it’s worth it for me to be in the city majority of the time for social plans & influencer events

you did great with this and thx for sharing openly. good work here. a couple things, i hope you dont call it ‘fidi’ to ny’ers lol. we would just say downtown, or to be more specific ‘financial,’ unless you are in battery park city or say by the seaport, then you might say that. also i’m with you on the smoking peeve and unfortunately its the worst neighborhood in the city for that. anyway, all the best - i’ll check back. 🎉

@@LuciaCordarohi lucia - i know your videos will move on so i dk if you see this, but yeah fidi is a relatively new moniker for downtown. there is another newish one in manhattan its called hudson hts which is washington hts. these made up real estate neighorhood nicknames and they drive ny’ers nuts, but yes they are real and you will hear some people use them. i guess its an easy way for you to connect with other new move ins if your hear it. nothing wrong with that lol. and as for the smoking, literally anywhere else will be better as in less of a bug than downtown is. the particular businesses there and those narrow streets make it worse. as you go uptown its gets less of an issue north of the courts and chinatown. i say that as someone who is very sensitive to that as you are and sympathetic. ha. alright lady - if you have any questions just ask here or my insta (mrnyc) or i’ll try to check back sometimes. 🎉
