As a former expat who lived and worked in SIN for 19yrs (2000/2019) you will be thrilled, challenged, disappointed and frantic but most of all it should be an adventure. The temperature doesn’t change too much, just the wet and dry season with constantly high humidity. Good luck.

@@pascoesvale Sadly not of my choosing. The firm I worked for (UK based) reorganised the staffing levels and hired 3 junior staff (no ‘real world’ experience) to fill my senior role with my salary paying for their collective wages. The move ultimately backfired and was rejected by clients. The ultimate irony is that the unit had a strength of 9 staff at my departure and that was whittled down to 3 in less than 12 months after the reasons for my departure became known by clients and the work was withdrawn. Karma. Fortunately I invested in real estate in the region and retired to my beachfront villa. As an ‘Expat’ in SIN your position is never guaranteed as SIN employment law is heavily weighted in favour of Employers. I thoroughly enjoyed my time in SIN and despite the ending not being what I had envisaged - que sera sera. I hope you enjoy your time there as much as I did.

Exactly, rental market now days is extremely expensive in Singapore and is extremely painful to find a nice place to stay here. Lucky you alone is slightly simplify the process for you because you can just rent a room, but for us who has already family with children is so tough 😓
