In Alberta, Canada where I live. The fines are pretty close to the same as you. But we only lose demerit points off our license if we get caught by the coppers. If we get the photo tickets we only have to pay the fine and no demerit points. We get a total of 15 points to start with with our license.

When choosing a location to live I always make sure to have things like shops, 7eleven & transport close at hand, as it's not much fun going for a long walk if you're tired/feeling unwell or it's 38c+ or pouring rain. 🤔 Just a thought mate.. 🙂

Good on you mate on the hill reps brass! Think about heading to katoomba and do some hill reps on the furber stairs. I was travelling hard for two years and got a bit fluffy - stopped in Aussie before going to Chiang Mai (highly recommend you visit that 🔥 place) a week running in the blueys got 4 kegs of me. And the 1000 steps got my legs the necessarily shredded for the Chiang Mai hipster life.

Bolt taxi is the way to get around cheap and comfy safer than a baht bike better than a baht bus even though there the cheapest. Grab will deliver to your condo, shopping and markets need to be close, a gym and pool are handy in condo. Jomtien is a good area also try around Big C Extra.

When the speed limit is 70 km/h or more and you drive: even 5 km/h too fast, the fine is NOK 1,100 aka"158Australian Dollar " . even 10 km/h too fast, the fine is NOK 3,000 aka"429.53 Australian Dollar ". even 15 km/h too fast, NOK 4,800 aka"687.24 Australian Dollar" has been submitted. Location is key, small places are fine as you cannot buy much... Plus you have to keep it tidy as it's so small... I would always put the location first.. think booze / food / snacks / transport etc

You should get yourself a drivers license here. Easiest way of transport and you can go wherever you want whenever! We are going to rent an apartment in View Talay for 25.000baht at 100sqm allowing pets and comes with a great pool, moving from a house in Nong Prue. Way too much to take care of with a house or a villa.. Most of the rental places you get in and around Pattaya is probably decent because the city isn't really that old, but location is really important in Pattaya imo so that is one thing to think about if you don't drive for yourself. Living in jomtien, transport is a consideration: baht bus or motorbike usually. CCR is a decent location with a walk to central pattaya. If you'll be working in central, i would be wary of living in jomtien. Love the art 👌👌

Only speeding five I got in NZ was $100 for 20 km over. In Japan I got caught doing 100 km on a 50 km road - country lanes still have town sped limits- no traffic and just cruising. The police rocked up to work the next day with the NZ road code photocopied telling me I should be getting a 45000 yen fine and a loss of license - but he knew in Nz in the countryside it was 100 km he so instead he told me to enjoy Japan but drive slower.

I used to love cars and driving and modyfying cars etc. but living in Sydney has taken the joy out of it. You literally have to be watching your speedo the whole time. The speed limits change randomly with no logic. A private company gets a commission on every fine issued. It has zero to do with road safety. It's really sad
