I remember watching our local scrap metal dealer "Lovatts" picking up my old LDV van (to scrap😢) by it's fibre glass roof ...he nearly got it on the flat bed and suddenly dropped it !cracking the chassis in half ...but fair play he took another bite of it and got it on 😞 awesome to watch a crane /lorry driver 😊

Fantastic video Lawrie, that was a serious piece of kit that SC sent for the job. The driver was a seriously skilled maestro of the HYAB crane. 👌. Great choice of music for the lifts, I half expected a cutaway shot to you saying "I Love the smell of diesel traction in the morning" 🤣👍. Hope we will get footage of the Fowler and Ruston in action 🤞.

To relieve the boredom you could have cleaned and polished the Ruston in readiness of the move. Its interesting to see how smaller industrial locomotives are moved.

Why not connect the wood working shop to rail? You could put the rail in the ground so that it could still be driven over but still useable to move a wagon to a shop

I was wondering the same thing. I understand the state of the tyres were preventing the loco from being used as extensively as it ought to be. Passenger use would require fitting of air brakes & the associated pipes seen on the Fowler.

What road was the lorry driving along. It's been over 30 years but I'm sure I've driven along there more than once. I was in Stowmarket and regularly went up to various bits of Norfolk.

There's something terrifying about watching a loco being lifted by crane. The knowledge that if something. goes wrong, and she gets dropped, then she's done for good. Watching PM 1225 being set back on her running gear was a nightmare at times, because the one crane operator kept tilting her, even though I knew they'd successfully set her down the previous day.

Is it really that hard to lay bit of track and one switch? Much better than having to pay a company for it . Look i understand that you dont wana damage your concrete plates so put the rails on top of the concrete until you get better idea ass a temporary fix. It will save your company lot off money soo think about it mate . Wery good video like always ❤❤.
