I’m a for profit player in Las Vegas. I don’t usually comment on many poker vlogs but right off the bat you made me laugh playing that 84 of Diamonds saying “coming out playing very GTO”, I was dying!! I did want to address that AQ off hand. I think 4 betting the Small Blind is fine especially if you think he’s light but the mistake was open limping with it from the CO. Why did you limp for $5 instead of opening for a raise? You have a strong hand and want as much value as you can get from the players behind you. These players have no problem calling with A8 A9 A10 not to mention K9 K10 KQ and all kinds of small pocket pairs.

So in narrating I realized I made a mistake. Sometimes it's hard trying take notes really fast in the middle of a hand. It went as followed. Hero in BB btn raised to 10 sb 3b 40 then Hero 4b 135 then btn call sb 3 325

Hello Mack's Bet! Nice vlog, thanks for posting it! Hey I wanted to mention you didn't really make any big mistakes in the 88 hand. Folding to his river shove would have been weak-tight, since he should have a fair number of bluffs, compared to value.

Well in theory I do agree with that. But so many people in live poker underbluff tbh so probably closer in real time. But against tougher opponents imma have to make this call. Just hope to be right ✅️

The ATo hand is a case of betting when you don’t have it then checking when you do. You can still get value from a K or a flush/straight draws when you hit your pair on the turn. Should have bet the turn as well

Quit showing your hands, my guy. Better players do not deserve to gain valuable knowledge. Even better for them that they didn't play the hand against you, yet they gained info of exactly what you did and why you did it. Unless everyone is showing, try to do that WAY less often. Keep em guessing. Obviously, if you wanna use it to your advantage, then def show your bluffs too.

I mostly raise smaller with aces. don't give people a chance to read you. You telegraphed your hand and they exploited you by folding. Better to go smaller like maybe even 65 cause why? no one else raised the just called capping their ranges, now yes you could allow them to catch up and crack u but they could still do that if they called a larger size, the difference? youre less likely to get away from aces with more money in the middle. with less money you could make a live read that your opponent is strong and fold out aces eg 5 callers someone bets then it gets raised before it gets to you on the flop and the flop is 567 then you can comfortably fold knowing someone has a set and or straight.
@PeteyPablo1
@PeteyPablo1 4 ай бұрын
Also if they have kq and the flop is k102 you can print money. I think you went to big but thats just my opinion.
@MacksBet28
@MacksBet28 4 ай бұрын
I agree my raise was to big but also I think 65 is a little small. But 75to 85 woulda been perfect specially with aces. I think my sizing woulda been a little better with a vulnerable pair like jj qq maybe even kk. With aa i don't need protection from overcards ND can just get away from them depending on board texture as you said! Thank you
@peterkan7296
@peterkan7296 4 ай бұрын
Your problem is not playing too loose, is that you played right in the middle not tight and not aggressive, which is the worst place to be. First hand 84d, you have to bluff at it, pair and flush draw = premium hand, on turn. Two ways to win it, they fold or you hit the flush by river. Both the 44/88 hand, either fold or check raise the flop. You really don't want to call down with a weak pairs, end the hand there. If they re-raise you, you are behind, just fold. Great content keep up with the good work.

helpful video, lotta good hands where you had to make some tough plays. you summarized the AQ hand perfectly, out of position facing a 5-bet, you would've been on the wrong side of a flip. I think they prolly had KK or QQ. I do agree with the other comments recommending to stop showing your hands. 2-5 players are there to make money and you're giving them free info on you, giving them an edge over you if you plan to play there regularly.

I would say the ace queen is a pure call when early position calls the $120 your pot size is almost $700. So you’d need to put in $205 to win $900 that’s crazy good pot odds. I even think a jam is acceptable but prefer the call. Sure you’ll have to fold a lot of bad flops but when someone gives me a 22% to call into a huge pot I’m calling with that strong of a hand
@jamesont22
@jamesont22 4 ай бұрын
Also would prefer a 4bet with suited varieties of ace queen as opposed to unsuited
@jamesont22
@jamesont22 4 ай бұрын
I think AA as played is fine. You are in late position so 2-2.5x is also acceptable but with three callers on the $20 sizing up isn’t a bad idea because worst case scenario your getting a bunch of dead money when everyone folds
@jamesont22
@jamesont22 4 ай бұрын
Your ace king of clubs hand as played the check on the turn is something that happens a lot in 1/3 trying to induce bluffs but at higher stakes players are much more likely to check back if they have any value. Definitely should have continued betting on the turn as your hands are so strong there.

Overall great job jumping up stakes! My long term advice for moving to 2/5 would be to be a little more aggressive when playing pots as most good 2/5 players will take free cards if they have value as opposed to seeing your turn and river checks as weakness like it would be in 1/3

If you play with any of these people regularly they are licking their chops when you keep showing. You don't realize how much you're giving away with that. I always ask to "sweat" hands of people I play with all the time. You learn so much about sizing, timing etc... when you see how they play certain spots. It's a huge leak, but obviously do you.
