That noise is the radiators, same thing happened in my apartment it kept waking me up and freaked me out at first!😂 Pretty sure it’s because there’s air in the radiators and you need to “bleed” them to stop the noise (I think that’s how we stopped it, can’t fully remember it was over a year ago lol)

I think this was one of your best vlogs, Mark! It just had such nice flow. Also, I might recommend a cute little rug for your kitchen and maybe some wall art that isn’t prints to add a bit of texture. And for those hall lights, maybe not a full on shade but maybe those cool geometric ones. Love the new flat!

Mark, at ikea they have these really cool light shades! As you come through the door you could have a narrow shoe cupboard, they look like a side board but it will conceal all your shoes and leave space for a small trinket bowl onto for random bits. Also that cupboard will be cramped with crimbo decs in it as well as shoes xx

@EEN636 жыл бұрын
I've really been enjoying your moving vlogs. I tend to love everything home decor and organization related! I have so many thoughts for your new flat so please take whatever ideas you think will work well for you and discard the rest! These are just what I would do if that space were mine. Clearly there are no wrongs or rights... just personal preferences when turning your flat into your home. 1) I would move both plants into the living room to the right of the balcony, in front of the narrow wall. Good light and maybe add a third, shorter/bigger potted plant on the floor to really ground the grouping. (Odd numbers in decorating is a good thing!) I would also add rocks or stones to the bottom of the plant stands so your plants can sit higher and closer to the rim of the planter. Stuff around the sides with some newspaper to keep steady and then finish the look with some moss on top to hide the plastic plant pot. Also, the extra weight of the stones might make the stands feel more sturdy. Don't forget some saucers to collect any small bits of overwatering! They have inexpensive, clear plastic ones at most nurserys... just take the diameter measurements of the plant stands with you and you'll be good to go. Oh, and a layer of stones in the coasters will also help the plants from sitting in excess water and dying on you! 2) I would definitely add fixtures/shades to those bare lights in your entry hall to make a polished, warm and inviting first impression. 3) Also a long "picture shelf" (e.g. Ikea) above the entry radiator and maybe extending to the wall that juts out - but no deeper than the wall that juts out, where you currently have one of the plant stands. Lean pictures, a mirror, add some candles, a decorative box (see #5), etc. for a lovely and homey focal point, in a very narrow entryway! 4) I would center a long and low cabinet with drawers or doors and possibly some open shelves behind your sofa (no taller than your sofa and a foot or two smaller in width). It will act as a sofa table and provide lots of wonderful hidden storage for those games/books in your kitchen cabinets and whatever else is in those two cabinets filled with all that random/non-kitchen-y stuff. You can place a lamp at the other end and run the cord/extension cord behind the sofa cabinet and under the sofa so you have a light for the other end of the sofa with no cords showing. Woo Hoo! I have a thing about visible cords. Also the top of this long storage cabinet is a great place to showcase bits of decor, special books with bookends, coasters, plants, flowers, etc. 5) I would maybe get an oversized bowl or large tray to corral some of your bits at the end of your long kitchen counter, closer to the balcony. And perhaps put a decorative box on the entry way shelf for your keys, wallet, etc. A beautiful box will keep those necessary "scatter bits" hidden but easily accessible. 6) I love the idea of the radiator cover with a shelf in the kitchen/dining room area and I would also slide the brass and glass buffet table in front of it, to make more room for your dining table and expand your entire "dining area". 7) I would center the dining table under the light to allow everyone ample room to scoot their chairs in and out comfortably as well as create a feeling of balance. I would also move your faux tree with lights to the left side of the window so it can have more "breathing room" and not feel visually squished by the wall jut out/support column. (You can easily scoot the table and chairs back when you are actually having a dance party!) 8) I would put the microwave on the short counter in the corner where you currently have your kettle and vitamins. It will keep the linear lines flowing nicely from your kitchen to your dining room and allow you more prep space on the other side of the sink for baking and prepping fruits and veg. 9) I would also hide the vitamins in an organizer (e.g. clear, lucite container) in the same cabinet with your glasses so you can easily pull them all out at once when you fix your glass of water to take them and then hide them out of sight and out of the light. 10) I would move the kettle to the left of the stove underneath your teas for easy access to teas, mugs and the cook top. And that should free up enough space for the microwave! 11) After you clean out the two cabinets of random, non-kitchen-y bits, you'll have plenty of room for all your food stuff (bread, crisps, soups, etc.) hidden away in your cabinets/pantry and not out on the counter. I feel open concept floor plans require a lot more hidden storage, as it's quite easy to quickly feel overly cluttered with just a few things out and about. 12) If you're allowed to hang curtains, I would hang some on your balcony windows/door and when they are open have them nestle behind the TV to hide all the cords from your view when you are relaxing out on your balcony... as well as functioning to eliminate any glare/light in your face when watching TV or playing video games. 13) Almost forgot, if you can hang a rod in your utility closet, to hang your coats and jackets above your shoe rack and washing machine, it would double as a great entry closet too! I hope you like some of these ideas and find them helpful in getting settled in your new home! Holy cow, that's a lot of ideas, but I've had fun "virtually decorating" your flat! LOL Congratulations again on this move! I couldn't be happier for you!

In the corridor where the plant is on that bit of walls you should paint the mini corner bit Dark blue , then get some pics with gold and copper frames on from desenio , then get a bench with a throw on :)

@LoretteHughes6 жыл бұрын
Bethany Struble Vlogs It depends what plants they’re. You can buy many that don’t need sunlight, some that can even go next to a radiator. The tags on them usually state where they’re best for, buying online you get a full brief of how to care for them x
@Mirily6 жыл бұрын
I was going to say that too! The type of plants they are need a bright spot out of direct sunlight, and your frondy friend in the bedroom won't like being by the radiator! You can get plants that would be happy with those places but the ones you have won't be!

You could stick some heavy rocks in the plant pots to weigh them down a little. Not quite sure how effective it'd be, but could help keep them grounded. Failing that, drill small holes in the sides of the plant pots and thread zip ties through them and your balcony to keep them secure.
