That wardrobe is the elephant in the room. I think you’ve found the best place for it, because you look beyond it into the room and it becomes part of the wall.

All starting to look lovely. To cover that door in the living room...move the sofa out a few cm and put a wood blanket ladder over it with a few pretty blankets on.. or move the sofa a bit further out and put a narrow stool there with a bushy plant eg a fern..they like light but not direct window light.

You could put come cute plants on top of that wardrobe and let them curtain a bit so it covers the back!

What about hanging a piece of art on the back of the cabinet behind your sofa?

Everything is coming together and looking great. Just a suggestion- did you ever think about lowering your new wicker lamp closer to the table area centered above your table? It might cast a different intimate glow while providing a symmetrical look. It’s too lovely to be hanging up so high. 😊 If you don’t like the cord itself, they sell fabric covers that are modern and cover the cords. You worked very hard. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🥰

Omg the closet against the back of the sofa does make sense just how I imagined it would be! Now if you add a lil low cabinet next to it, you'll get more counter space in your kitchen. Can't wait for your next update and hopefully a full room tour soon 💜

Love how your apartment is coming together, the colour scheme is so soft and relaxing. The lightshade is gorgeous, that would cost a lot more than £20 here in the UK. Looking forward to the next video.😊

I Germany everything is wallpaper (and then paint over it) too usually. I think we do that because after a certain amount of paint coats, the paint can start to chip and flake off. If it's wallpaper you can just take it down, do new one and be good for a WHILE. When it's just paint on there getting it off is more of a hassle. In Korea it might be for the same reason.

I was going to ask how long you plan to live there since you are buying so many large items. It definately does make your space more inviting and homely but I was under the impression it was only a year or 2 stay, started getting anxious for you worrying about dealing with the things on your next move. But you answered that question:-) glad you are so happy there.

It's not just Korea that's full of wallpaper. In Germany it's totally normal too. Even though most of the time it's a "Raufasertapete", a wallpaper with a similar texture to popcorn ceilings, but not this extreme.

In Denmark we used that same wallpaper in the 70s and 80s - the name translated is sawdust wallpaper, because it looks like you mixed paint with sawdust before painting it on the walls. But most people get rid of it now and have just plaster walls instead.

I got curious about the wallpaper thing apparently Korean wallpaper (Issuu) is different from western and more cost effective. I guess it's because with wallpaper you just need one "layer" and glue not primer and several coats of paint. It's a bit sad because it's harder to customize the walls. The first thing I did was paint my walls (the cold white in a studio was so depressing) so my main room is light warm green/grey and my hallway a deep navy it fits so well with all the pine/oak trim and floor. It made all the difference. Are you allowed to paint/wallpaper yourself or are you "stuck" with the current wallpaper?

Well, it really is quite bizarre that H is pronounced without an H-sound. I know English has some uses of silent H like honest and hour, but most letters are pronounced, so in essense those saying 'haich' are just correcting what is essentially a practice from French where the H is silent. 🙃

We just spent 2 weeks in Japan and I was shocked just how humid it was there. I also bought one of those fans with Dayan on it. Now I’m back at home in the Snowy Mountains area of NSW Australia and it’s been a big shock coming from 33 degrees on our last day in Japan back to winter here and a top of 10 degrees ☹️. I’m happy to be home to see our cats and dogs and other pets but I miss my daughter who was on the trip with us but she has now gone back to where she lives to finish her last few months of her nursing degree. Your apartment is looking beautiful. ❤

edit: I'm sorry british people, another lost in the pond moment, lol, I just looked up the word to confirm the meaning is what I thought it was, and lo and behold, lol, in the UK "homely" means "homey", hahahah, oh geez. omg, british people saying "homely" when they mean to say "homey", lol, you guys do know "homely" means someone, usually a young women, that is not very pretty, right?!, hahahah

Not here it doesn’t. Homely , is a cautionary tale! But we probably pronounce it differently…hom el ee…. cos we do that for most things. ‘Homey’ is a word I’ve seen used in bad movies by gangsters …..that I assumed had probably never been spoken by an actual American. Can we on the use of cosy? Or welcoming?
