I lived in Korea for 5 years (now settled in France, though I'm from California), I loved it, absolutely loved it. The only downsides were the pollution/dust, Spring time being the worst, and that it was hard to make serious friends even if you learn the language, most Koreans you meet kinda expect that you'll be leaving eventually. Honestly, if the pollution weren't so bad and it being so difficult now to get a permanent visa, me and my husband (whom I met and married in Korea) would've stayed there, we really really loved it. It's a great place for foreigners with a steady income to live (not so much for migrant workers, but that's any place really), you're income can go pretty far, don't need a car, rent is pretty cheap if you can afford the key money, there's so much to do and see, the T-Money card can be used anywhere in the country pretty much. Groceries can get a bit expensive, but the small Korean diners are really cheap and healthy so you don't always need to cook at home. I find there is an alcohol problem there, but since you're a woman, it's easier socially to get out of all the social drinking that can happen. But yeah, if we could get a permanent visa where we weren't limited on what we could do for work (meaning our visas weren't tied to our work), and the pollution isn't as it is, I think we'd probably go back in a heartbeat. I actually feel slightly more anxious here in France than I ever did in Korea, not as anxious as in California, but still. But for the foreseeable future, our life is in France, maybe we'll go back when my husband is about to retire in like 30 years or so to work for a year or 2 then retire back in France.

Oh my gosh … well I have fallen in love with your vlog and plan to binge all of your videos lol. I’ve been needing a change so badly as well but in my early 30s, I also feel low key terrified to transition my life. But seeing this makes me even more encouraged to really reorganize my life and see if being where I am in the field I’m in is the right fit for me. Thank you for sharing your story ❤

Have you thought about turning that wardrobe and making yourself a "walk in closet" type area? Maybe use that Ikea system of sliding screens mounted on the ceiling? Looking forward to watching the rest of the move in!

I was going to say that too. Move the open wardrobe to the right where the wall juts out a bit, turn it so the open side faces the wall where the futon is. Then you can have a “wall”, and not see the contents. Just an idea. Your apartment is a really nice size!

Time truly does pass way too fast. I have watched you since before you bought the house. It has been lovely to see you grow and change and travel. Enjoy every adventure. Your joy at finding a place your love and finding happiness again is wonderful to see. Thank you for sharing you new life.

No. Do i know that where i am ain’t right? Yes. So let’s try it, the old life will always be there right waiting if i want it right? 😊

I understand where you are coming from. I'm in my late 30s and I feel like my 20s and 30s absolutely flew by. I don't regret all of the experiences I've had. I'm not as settled as some of my friends because of all of the travel, job changes, education, moving to different parts of the world, etc., that I did in these past 2 decades but I absolutely don't regret it because there's still plenty of time to settle (or not!). Happy for you that you are traveling and experiencing new things! I also appreciate that you have kept your channel through all of this, I find it interesting when peoples lives change and they can evolve their channel along with their life.

Just found your channel! Love it so far. I appreciate the honesty about your mental health. I think the pandemic affected every soul in one way or another and challenged us in more than just the medical sphere. But hey, you probably learned some things about yourself and so glad to see that you plowed on through and are trying to live your dream! Just wondering if that closet piece of furniture you are using downstairs is too tall to fit upstairs in that wall cutout? That cutout space would make a good closet somehow.

I love seeing people making radical life changes. So many people are afraid to leave their comfort zone and after years pass they look back and regret the opportunities they missed out on. I myself made a radical life change recently. I’m 31 and I quit the corporate job I’ve had since 19 to go to school for nursing. I’m taking the spring and summer off to just enjoy life and am halfway through my 1.5 month long trip in Korea. 5, 10, 20 years from now I know I would have regretted it if I stayed with my previous employer even a year longer. I wish you all the best with your time in Korea as well.
