Welcome to California Pete! If you need some cuttings to get started and happen to be near San Jose during the winter, I can give you some. I imagine there's a lot of fig fanatics nearer to you though (e.g. Harvey/Figaholics). Also, you might want to try growing dragonfruit now that you're in ~9b. The plants might need some protection when the temperature dips below freezing, but it should be doable.

Thanks! Yes, I hope to try growing some different fruits here in CA. I don't think I ever showed it on my fig videos, but I did grow other fruits in VA too.

Nice tour of America. California is a better place for growing figs, grapes. but there might be different issues. Higher Taxes, fire's etc. Good luck to you and family.

You're right Daniel 4774 seven 02. Fig growing better maybe but otherwise CA would not be my first choice .... or probably 100th choice. Sorry, definitely not for me.
