Very good breakdown as usual 👍. If the power goes to the ground before target you will lack power, if body mechanics aren't fired in the right order you can lose power. I've noticed both of these in training. It takes a lot of reps I see, this is a very technical art as Bruce said.

Like someone had alluded to about boxing . .... this is the Sweet Science that Cus taught. Be in a situation where you can hit him, but he cannot hit you

Kinda sad that in boxing, you were taught to always keep thinking about moving before and after a strike but alot of people focused too much on the details of the technique, that they forgot to move their legs to cut angles, retreat and advance while practicing with heavy bag and sparring, and that bad habit got trasferred into a fight There's also the check hook that you step off line, pivot and pulled the opposite shoulder back to generate power for the hook instead of the hips at the last minute when they other guy come straight at you. Caught alot of people off guard with this technique

When throwing the hook while stepping to the oeft, are you landing the hook before the left foot touches the ground?

Thomas, how much of a difference is there between wing chun and JKD? Surely there is some overlap? I know the footwork is different etc. But if you did wing chun then did JKD would there be things that are the same/similar to wing chun? Such as some techniques?
