How exciting, it looks lovely. Had Ted been at his old yard for a long time? He looked super chilled at the new place like he was used to moving or stopping in places overnight.
@RidingWithRhi4 жыл бұрын
We haven't been anywhere overnight and he'd been at his old yard quite a while - over a year. He moved to a couple of yards before I started sharing him but never seemed to like them as much so it was really nice to see him so comfortable so fast - i had been so worried he might be a bit anxious but he walked right in and never looked back! I went down the next morning and he had straw in his tail and had obviously lay down which was lovely to see.

To be fair my horse hadn't left a property in 10 years and had about the same reaction. They really SHOULDNT freak out. Maybe leaving but not arriving. Especially not a horse you want to be able to show

Thank you Charlotte! It is of course, a little luck, but a lot of hard work that makes things like this possible. I'll be honest.. i was exhausted 😂it was becoming quite challenging. I can already feel the difference knowing Ted is looked after to the highest standard and I get to just hang out and cuddle him without having to rush around☺

I understand livery as I am at a part time livery now , and im moving to a diy yard today as want to spend more time with her . I will never get full livery or competition livery , why not just sell your horse if your paying for other people to ride , do chores and compete.
@RidingWithRhi Жыл бұрын
I guess it comes down to several things. The first is, of course, personal preference. The second is support. The support of a coach helping you in your development of a young horse by riding them also, the support of more experienced professionals. Almost every single professional rider has people who also ride their horses in some capacity. The third is time. I kept my horse on full livery and this allowed me to see him every single day and use the time I had to groom, hang out with him and train, rather than have to rush around doing chores and then not have time to spend with him. I would 100% do full livery again if given the option. It allows me to spend quality time with my horse and keep my career which pays for him 🤣 *edited for spelling error

Hey Rhi. What kind of strong duct tape do you recommend to hold a hoof poultice?
@jmu32054 жыл бұрын
Congrats on the move! Just out of curiosity, what general field/industry do you work in? Absolutely fine if you do not want to share, just curious from an affordability perspective as I'm planning on moving to London after the grad degree and this type of livery/coaching package sounds like a dream 😅
@RidingWithRhi4 жыл бұрын
Haha - yes, I'll be honest, it is much more expensive than DIY but its what works best for me and Ted. I work in marketing but honestly, do what you love! There are so many opportunities to create side hustles these days that if you follow your passion, you'll find a path that can support your lifestyle. It's also about budgeting - I really crunch my numbers when it comes to what I spend and where. Horses are my passion so i spend a lot more on that than say, a fancy car, or fancy clothes, or going out loads.. you get the idea. It's all about being honest with what you can and can't realistically do.

My openly complaint with your videos is that they aren’t longer !! 🥺😂xx

@sommeranne48763 жыл бұрын
What dose livery mean?
@RidingWithRhi3 жыл бұрын
There are lots of types with varying degrees of chores taken by staff, but it's essentially a yard, run by a person, where you keep your horse.

If a loaner is being trusted with the welfare of horse as the owners circumstances have changed that they can no longer manage their horses why is the full cost expected to paid by the loaner. I get it, that the loaner hasn't had to pay out the initial purchase but the input the loaner is putting into the horse must be worth something as well.
@joandjimmymay Жыл бұрын
Why don’t you wanna mucking out and putting him out that’s basically your partner ship is gonna go down the window I rather do it all myself but love your channel
@RidingWithRhi Жыл бұрын
I have a career in London, meaning I simply can’t, rather than not wanting to. I do disagree with your point though. In the wild, horses bond by grooming one another, spending time together. I see my horse almost every single day and together we do exactly that! I think we have a very strong relationship, it just so happens that his “herd” also includes the wonderful staff who work on our yard.
