It's funny how the more things change the more they stay the same. I remember reading a book back in the early 80's by Franco Columbu where he said that back in his village in Italy he grew up lifting stones in a quarry near his home. He credited that exercise with giving him excellent tendon strength which prepared him to become the great powerlifter/bodybuilder he became. I think at the time he even had some world records. I personally hope that the future of strength training will get back to core, grip and tendon strength. Huge bulging muscles get to be a handicap after awhile.

Not many videos show how to progress from small movements to complex ones. Great job! Will be doing this!

I think it would be cool to do another video like this where when you’re showing progressions, you are showing an “average” person who is not “fit” doing the progressions themselves. SEEING another average joe “on their way” working on their improvement in movement is I think relatable and inspiring for those of us watching at home. But thanks for the content

And much more practical relatively speaking. This is where the patience and science comes in, to be able to teach a morbidly obese, depressed, cancer patient how to move naturally and build functional strength.

I used to be able to do these things. They are as this gentleman says a progression. A combination of movements to achieve an action. I can't understand why there are no comments on this video, it is very useful information and would literally save many people from getting injuries by performing them carelessly. This person shows you how to safely complete the movements and instructs prior to beginning that it will take time to build the integrity of the joints. So ergo it is the art of strength, in that the achievements will be incremental and not spectacular success overnight so to speak. Solid and mature advice. He is wise no doubt. I am 50 years old now and must alkalize my tissues before beginning this program he has outlined, but I will be ready to give it a shot soon enough. Many thanks for sharing this experience with us MovNat.

It's actually inspired by Georges Hébert (27 April 1875 - 2 August 1957) was a pioneering physical educator in the French military who developed a system of physical education and training known as "la méthode naturelle" ("Natural Method") or hebertism (built on his name), which combined the training of a wide variety of physical capacities with the training of courage and ethics.

nonetheless you wont become "ridiculously strong" with this stuff... scaling is a weakness of this movement approach which doesnt make it a good strength training.
