Our last QUALITY tech ( who opened his shop in 1975 is about to hit his 50 year of service) I went to him when he up need bout my best radio on his 25 anniversary and just got that radio repaired best receiver in the house my usual base the galaxy99v2 is getting a 10 year clean up and re tune he say it is good now the so239 on back had factory issues threads wouldn't allow full tighten and the wire inside he upgraded to a tiny shielded flexible coax That radio should be home by this eve xyl travels right past his offramp every other day and is picking it up for me 🎉🎉🎉🎉 10-12 meteR AM FM SSB 40 WATT bare foot ( though I have hi drv box behind it )

So how much signal difference is there from the front to back side on the S-Meter?

I tuned a dipole antenna I made back around 2008 with 12G copper wire I got from Lowe's using the SWR meter. I checked the SWR on Ch 1 and on Ch 40 and kept checking and trimming until it was around the same on Ch 1 and Ch 40. I ended up with a 1.1 match between 1-40 and 1.2-.1.3 going 10 channels each way.

Sir do you do your own radio repair- upgrades or do you have a good shop recommendation.I don't think we have a cb shop in Augusta Ga. I just got a cobra 29 from ebay I think it needs to be gone through.

I think it's safe to Say Your The Homebrew Antenna Master on the 27mhz. Never take the away the suspense moment for the SWR range you get....

Hey john has your analyzer ever told you your antenna eas better or worse than what an swr meter tells you ? I havent had opportunity to use or own one but have had several swr meters some appea.r more accurate some have shown a noteable rise when three others dont

I only use SWR meters that show the same result as my analyzer. sometimes SWR meters can get out of adjustment, and need to be recalibrated internaly.

did get you get chance saw my President Uniden Grant video this radio i hope my rm italys not burn out it just making 5a fuse glow on front atx board computer power supply i have 3 of them computer power supplys i blew 3 5 amp fuses not inside the amp them yesterday it only does when talk in the mic am on cobra 139 and grant. it hads with my sliver eagle. yesterday i getting contacts to southeast tx northern LA with cobra 139 and President Uniden Grant.

Just a Y-Quad spacing, will work

the spacing is different on this antenna vs a Y-quad. the Y-quad uses a reflector element, my antenna uses a director element.

Just talk you 10 mins ago you where hitting 8dbs on my quad5 top gun that was macov5000 on turner plus 2 I talk to udx183 in sc yesterday one cobra 139.that happens I was trying see my radio was working I guess trucker's in area not on radio. We been heat advisory in tn today until 8pm we 96 dogs today.

UDX-151 i been watching the weather channel make get on the radio talk guys on 27.515 mhz lsb tell those guys in Jamaica they need goto mountains if they have caves up there is hurricane barely coming tomorrow or next day it very close cat5 soon it was them they get away from ocean from storm surge get up in the mountains.
