On this episode, we have another big cleanup. I came in a did a quote for a young couple, expecting their first baby and getting their first home ready for tenants. It was a bit of an overgrown jungle and the owners really didn't know where to start. As usual, I came in and got it into tip-top shape.

Q: Where are you located?
A: We are from Hobart, Tasmania, Australia 🦘🦘🦘.
Q: Do you worry about snakes?
A: I have never even seen a snake in over 4 years on the job.
Q: Which equipment do you use?
A: We use mostly STIHL power equipment (battery and petrol) and commercial Honda self-propelled mowers.
Q: How much do the jobs cost?
A: Sorry, I prefer not to talk about costs!
Q: What happened to Nick?
A: Nick was offered a full-time position at his other job as a Political admin!
Q: What happened to Brent?
A: Brent quit at the start of August 2022.
Q: Why don't you use tarps instead of bins?
A: Tarps are too difficult to move through small spaces and lift into the trailer. The same for wheelbarrows, they are only good for unloading the trailer!
Q: Why are the hot water cylinders outside?
A: I'm not really sure to be honest, maybe something to do with space & maintenance, but either way, it really is poor heat efficiency!
Q: Why are you cutting so close to your employee!
A: I'm not cutting too close to my workers, they are standing too close to where I am working! All of my workers have been told numerous times about standing too close to the tools and about the hazards involved!
Q: Why do your workers do all the lifting and carrying?
A: Basically, they are employed to carry things and I pay them well, to do the job required.
Q: You work so well together, how do you do it?
A: That's the magic of editing. My workers are basically given instructions on what to do, I just edit it all out, so the videos look seamless!
Q: Why don't you have help?
A: I've had many problems with employees in the past, so now I work alone.
Q: Why don't you have a ride-on mower?
A: Well, there are a few reasons.
1. Currently, I don't do enough big jobs to justify spending 15k on a good ride on mower.
2. I don't have anywhere to store it.
3. A lot of the properties we do have fences and gates, so you can't actually get a ride-on in there.
4. I don't have the right trailer for a ride on, considering we always take the green waste away.
5. I will get one as soon as all of the above are solved.

@@olgadodge4904 I do the same thing, in Autumn mostly, because it saves me time. I would rather the mower gather the debris, leaves and such, than me raking it all

@@olgadodge4904 like DJ says, they're basically rechopping and gathering the cut materials [and mulching the finer stuff down onto the soil, which is also good]

It sounds like some tough decisions were made, George. Like many others, I saw your video about moving on from doing this here and remember thinking it terrible news for us KZbin followers because what you do is above and beyond what most do in a garden tidy. I guess it must be tough doing it on your own. The earlier videos showed great teamwork with Nick. Replacing that is hard enough, and maybe you found that hard as others came and went. @@Lucinda_Jackson same here. What channels that bother me are the ones the edge sidewalks and the streets, especially the streets and throw it up in the yard. NO that’s not how you should do it, I don’t care if it is free. All the stones and glass that is in that!! You can her it when the mow over it, that’s just being lazy. If you can’t do it right don’t do it at all. Do it like George rake or sweep it up and bag it or tarp it whatever. That just really gets me. I worked on a golf course for 8 years you just don’t do that stuff.

@@noelle7714 I understand what you're saying, but those are generally the guys who do properties for free and don't have a regular business as George did, with a trailer to be able to cart stuff away. Plus, depending on where you are, the costs to dispose of waste are extremely high and require costly permits plus fees for each load. It's just not possible for them to do what they do on that basis, so I understand it. And, in the end, most only put the dirt and grass/weeds clods on the yard. And, of course you wouldn't do that with a golf course!
