Mowing the Field With the Kubota

It was a beautiful night to mow with the John Deere No.5 and the L4060!!

With a sickle mower you don't turn your corners. You lift your bar make a left hand loop lower your bar and go. This is where your A would work better for mowing because when you lift your bar crank your wheel left while locking the left brake all at the same time. That old A will turn on a dime.

I found your channel I want to say over a year ago, when you started doing hay with the 8N. You had like 200 subs back then lol. You are right with all those new blades the sickle mower is cutting nicely. Also now that you have cut the field last year the grass looks like a better quality also.

Yes the grass was much better quality this year and very thick!

As you say, there are Deere lovers, myself included that Would have rather mowed with the Jonny popper than the kubota, but you are right about needing 3 arms. I found out how much easier it was driving a little Ford 2000 or 631 when I started using them at the golf course. Our A didn't have the 3 point on it. The mower was held on with a couple of clamps, you had to get it driven it pretty accurately to get it hooked up.

The JD cylinder is a two way . Just add two new hoses and it will work just fine. Leave the spring on the mower so it will carry some of the weight of the inner bar/shoe.

The live PTO is worth everything on the Kubota! A little grease a little oil you just initiated that Kabota!

Goot! Nice job with the mowing, and I didn't even notice the sandals 'til I read the comments! Your hay looks really good, no weeds. Do you spray for weeds with that sprayer in your barn?? (I have a 40 gal 3 pt. Fimco just like it) Oh, and best part was when the drone wrecked in the trees! LOL

I have never sprayed for weeds. Every year since I started mowing there have been less and less weeds. Thanks for watching!!

That mushroom is a vent on the cylinder. New hose and tread tape on hose and vent would fix you up. Save some monies.

I ended up raking with the Kubota. I did bale with the John Deere and the Kubota to do a comparison.

I know what your saying about the kubota is easier to operate, I have a JOhn Deere B that I put my JD #5 mower on because it won’t fit on my JD 3203 compact tractor it’s not set up for 3 point.
