I've removed my discharge chutes. It allows the grass more room to get thrown from under the deck. But my Huskies got to work every time.

I leave it on because sometimes I like it down so it gets the dust just a little bit further away. I know it’s not much but every little bit helps.

As long as you keep sharp blades on it. I’ve switched to scag and I wish I would’ve paid the extra money in the beginning. It really is that much better

@@Dhutto what does your scag have on it and if u don't mind me asking what is the price rang on it. The Z554L is around 9600 but is the step below than the biggest one husqvarna makes. I live about 60 miles from in La., & have been cutting glass for customers for about 7 years. You are taking a beating on your machine. You should look into a suspension seat from Seat Warehouse, it will help save your back.

@@Dhutto I like to lower my tires air pressure when I'm getting beat up like that. Make them soft but you don't want to break the bead and end up flat.

How do you go about figuring out a price for some over grown grass like this? How much do you charge for this?
@Dhutto4 жыл бұрын
Great question and if you ask 100 lawn care guys they will give you 100 answers. The way I do it is I look at the lawn and estimate as though it wasn’t overgrown. Once I get that number I times it by however many time I think I will have to go over it. Then add a little on top for the extra wear on my equipment. So if I would cut a yard for $60 and I’m going to have to triple cut it then it’s $180 for just the cut. Then I add whatever I feel is right to that.
@baldemar21024 жыл бұрын

You want to stay away from those yards if you can. Be there done that. It is not worth it in the long run. It really puts alot of pressure on the deck belt. When you get your bussiness bigger. You will want to stay away from that kind of yard. But did a good job.

We do so many of these kind of cleanups it isn't funny. And what you see here is child's play compared to some of the stuff I've put our mowers through. We've had places where the grass was higher than the zero turn and we get through em ok. If you can find a good method to do the job without damaging people or equipment the profits can be huge. We've pulled over $600 for an hour's worth of work on cleanups before so it's easy money if you have the right tools and experience

Try zero lift or flat blades on these jobs...you will be surprised...they are hard to find, so I just make my own...flat spring steel (or better), simply drill the appropriate sized hole and bevel to sharp from center to tip...they walk through shit like this...

I’ll have to look into that. Thanks for the advice!
