When it started, I was not sure what was going on, especially with the black face. As the movie continued I appreciated the honesty and transparency of the mother and daughter depicted in this movie because it shows the biases that can be found in interracial marriages globally because of a person's skin tone. It also brought out that if a person overlook those biases and focus on the good, they are able to make a difference in the community instead of taking it personal. Great movie!

Africa is very big, with different countries, so which country is being portrayed here? What I know is that Africans are very respectful to their elders just like Asians and will not behave like this lady, example, at the dinner table, no African will start eating before the host invites them. 2ndly, talking about what you have done with your husband and what he did with his ex? The comment I was just about to write. I really wanted to know which African country was being depicted. Cos no way I put my hands in a meal for the whole family in laws for that matter. Never acceptable. I really wish they had chosen a country cos she was a bit too expressive. Talking about having sex with their son, I doubt that could ever happen where I am from, jumping the window into the room is a no no. A lot of parents would have objected to that too. I have seen a lot of c dramas and I find their culture very similar to ours. I wish a country in Africa was picked.

Yes, but Asians are really unfamiliar with many of these concepts. In China, people easily follow you around, touch you, and stop you to try to know more about you. It could feel invasive at first until you understand they are fighting their own cultural biases. Until today, such interracial relationships are the object of curiosity or plain disapproval.

Love should always win 😀.Sensitive subjects put under the spotlight and treated in a very refreshing way, so that people can meditate on them. Bravo 👏 Sometimes we overestimate so much the weight of society's opinion, those around us, on our choices that we are paralysed, determined to live unhappily, when society has no intention whatsoever of working on our happiness. What I like the most was that Lulu and her friend - co-wife Shen Ying are young, but they were both wise and intelligent enough to understand that there was no point in fighting amongst themselves and that it should be up to Xie Xiaojun to fight for the woman he really loved.
