Moxy Kyoto Nijo is a stylish Marriott-affiliated hotel located near Nijo Castle that opened in July 2021.
I stayed in a room called the Ume Guest Room this time.
The room was nice and not too small.
There was a desk that could be folded up when not in use, which was convenient for working on the computer or eating.
The free breakfast is a Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite or higher benefit, but Moxy offered a choice of $10 food and beverage credit as a benefit. (Other option was to earn Marriott points, but I opted for the food and beverage credit this time.)
Breakfast is 1,500 yen, so I received breakfast for an additional 300 yen, with the 10 US dollars worth (which translates to 1,200 yen) free.
There is a bar in the common space on the first floor, and the atmosphere is very young and cool, which was a little intimidating for me at first when I was alone use.
Well, I got used to it once I was there and didn't think anything of it anymore.
You can use it for various purposes, such as working on the computer, talking with friends, or just sitting and relaxing.
Access is a 3-minute walk from JR Nijo Station, so you don't need to worry even if you have large luggage.
There is a shopping complex with many restaurants in front of the station, and a short walk will take you to Hankyu Omiya Station, so it was very convenient.
