it's rainy and thundering outside where i am and i have had such a heavy heart the last few days, i'm going through a difficult time and all i want to do is crawl into a dark shell by the sea and listen to the waves forever. Moya i love your videos, ever since you started during filming your days during covid you have felt like a friend and i feel like we've been growing up together albeit in paralel. i moved countries, you did too, you've felt lost and uncertain and i have, too. i especially love when you visit Indonesia because it is so part of who you are and as someone who also lives their life as a bridge between continents and is always 'away' from one of their 'homes', i think documenting it is so special and you do it in such a genuine, effortless way. i recently visited home in south africa and i also call my grandparents ouma and oupa. this video reminds me that we're never truly alone and we're all living these different lives yet at the heart we seem to feel and experience the same things and we also need the same things. some familiarity, love, books, the ocean, our breath, meditating. despite feeling so sad and so heavy, spending this time with you just now was so peaceful. i still hope we can run into one another one day, i lived in paris when i was 19 - 22 and it was one of the most beautiful chapters of my life. x
