I really like the Moza products, my only worry right now is because it's a Chinese product, is the customer support. If they have as many issues as Fanatec (which are based in EU and have always had a slow customer support), that could get problematic very quickly. That said so far I've not heard of any complaints. Same goes for Simagic (love their new F1 FX wheel!) The Moza wheel and it's layout are practically perfect!

Agree 100% with Jardier, I Had the Csl DD but I wasn't happy with that. So I changed for Moza few weeks ago, and for me it really feels better. The only only thing missing was the ability to change the settings on the wheel, especially coming from Fanatec, you can do with on smart phone but NO. I actually discovered that there are some buttons combinations allowing to do that but still not easy like Fanatec. I like the settings possibilities on Moza and I think there's a room for really improvements there. It runs warmer but so far no problems to this moment. I was afraid of those noises but after look for the size of the thing and the forces that it outputs I can understand. My wife for example can't hear those noises even getting close. Shifters are crazy loud without the rubber 😳. Regrets? Not at all, durability will tell us.

As you guys requested here is Moza video! Moza was so nice to send me their base and two of their wheels (I only had to pay for import tax) for test. My channel is not channel for reviews, I dont want it to become one, I like to test things, but there are way better people doing proper in depth reviews. So my video is simple testing the base and wheel and giving my feedback how it feels to me. So please dont be rushing with things like "he hates it" or "loves it too much". I do these videos with personal use and my own taste! :) There were for sure some positives and also some negatives. R9 Base was most impressing to me, connection rod and base itself gave really good strength feedback to me. Installation was simple even though I had issue with usb and had to buy usb hub, but it might be my own issue, I dont know how to tell. But overall I think tiny little tweaks and the base would be top job. GS wheel I think is pretty good, buttons are most impressive and nice RGB, compare to what I use now (Fanatec V2.5) I think buttons were better quality but overall wheel felt a bit cheaper for way higher price as being sold, but it might be personal taste. For the price with tax and shipping I can almost get Simucube wheel or almost Gomez if I pay a bit more. So here for me my V2.5 is still a winner when I look at price/quality/look. CS wheel I dont like too much. Buttons again are well done, but wheel itself looks quite cheap and leather/rubber or whatever its made of doesnt feel very nice to me (again personal taste). I was always told Moza is cheap solution, but after checking prices and tax and shipping I was a bit shocked its actually pretty expensive. But nevertheless I would say company has good simracing future ahead of them! :) If you wanna know if I would swap my csl dd to moza r9. Probably not, its all overall personal taste. But its getting very close I think Moza is improving more and more!

I can’t buy directly from fanatec; I have to use a third party service to buy it from them and then ship it to my country since we don’t have resellers here. That increases the prices a lot. why are we still surprised that DD bases are releasing one after the other and they are generally good? i mean every DD has the same benefit which is the feedback is fed directly to the wheel so every DD will feel pretty quick and responsive, the signal coming from the game never changes either, its always the same, when you hit a rumble strip its the same signal sent at the same frequency and the differences you feel are really down to the motors characteristics so some will be slightly sharper, some will be a little dull or dampened etc but ALL of them have the ability to be tuned very very similar in my experience, having a DD1 and a simucube 2 pro side by side i can say for sure that the actual FFB effects are VERY similar, the difference comes in the shape of motor smoothness and speed, the simucube is simply smoother to turn and can be tuned to respond ever so slightly quicker, on top of the much superior QR that makes it a better product, fanatec has a solid software package but it still lacks what i would call game changing software options like a static force reduction filter which is just exceptionally useful, how have they not just straight copied it yet i dont know, you can get all the details without the wheel being too heavy mid corner. anyway without rambling about that comparison i think fanatec have some serious competition in moza and simagic, its sheer brand name popularity keeping them on top because i think ALL of the latest lower priced DD's outclass fanatec's podium lineup, moza and simagic bases use smoother servo motors and far better quick releases, i dont care if they lack the outright power or not if i turn the wheel and its not smooth that immediately takes me out of the immersion, no car on the planet has notchy steering and as subtle as it is with fanatec its there, the excuse its hard to notice when driving is not an excuse im happy with when spending this kind of money, its suppose to be the best of the best and simply does not feel like a real life car, the DD1/2 are really needing a hardware update in my opinion to keep up as harsh as that is. Moza and simagic only have to keep pushing their marketing angle, get their software in order and more fully featured and they might be real trouble for fanatec.
@ichizos96152 жыл бұрын
Regarding your issue with wheel and subwoofer it might be caused by you inserting those two devices to the same USB Controller. Your motherboard surely has many USB ports but they are grouped by USB Controllers and if you are connecting two "heavy-power" devices to the same USB controller you might be running into bandwidth limit for this particular controller. Playing with different port combinations might help.

If you haven't tried it already, try moving the conflicting devices to different combinations of USB ports and you might find one that works. Your PC probably has more USB ports than it has USB controllers (the chip on the motherboard that talks between the USB device and the processor). It could also be that one of the devices requires a high power connection which is why you got the charging message. If either have a red or yellow USB connector, that's probably the problem. As far as the USB issue you are having. It could be a few things from something as dangerous as a short somewhere in the USB cable for the R9, to something as simple as the R9 is pulling so much power through the USB of your motherboard that it's causing other's to not get adequate power and be shut down due to this. The latter issue could possibly be fixed by using a powered USB Hub. The former may just need a different cable or could be a manufacturing defect and you should contact MOZA to have the base returned to them for inspection.

I think this MOZA R9 is a competitor to the Fanatec CSL DD wheel and similar cheap dd wheels, but the R9 instead of offering 8nm, offers 9nm of dd force, so it’s truly a remarkable price of 500 USD for the wheelbase itself. You might say oh it only has 1nm more torque in the base. Yes, you would be correct, but that helps you really feel the road and even helps to make sure you even have more confidence when sim driving. So quite truly the competitor.

Using this for 3 years and not a single use/ problem 💪 so i guess depends
@chadsugden4112 жыл бұрын
@@Jardier 3 years of use is plenty enough for me to justify it. My next level racing one is starting to die slowly.

Some USB devices just won't get along when connected to the same USB controller on the mobo, like the saitek x56 flightstick and throttle gets all jumbled like that. So it's either that or power draw. My 2 cents
@Schniebel892 жыл бұрын
Your USB ports are probably all connected to 1 controller. try different ports or get a USB expansion card . Edit: Happens a lot when you plug to many VR stuff into your PC as well.

I don`t understand why Moza send you the small Base they should know you use the big boy. I´m curious what you report if you ride it for a long time in relation to the slightly larger diameter. I`m on one side glad that i need more time to save money for good racing equipment so i can see the development of the Software for the Wheelbase i heard they should make it better. I like the look of their Formula Wheel in my opinion the second best after the Fanatec 2.5 Wheel. But i heard the larger diameter is better for longer sessions.

That’s because Moza seems to attack the more budget oriented customers and that’s important for them to establish a position on the market. Going up in their lineup, there are more/stronger competition, the one that actually makes Moza stand out is the cheaper offering. It’s probably better for them to just compete with CSL DD and maybe Cammus than strongly marketing themselves in a stronger, tougher, more mature market of established wheels. They simply have more chance growing their marketshare better this way. Because if they have issues competing with the CSL lineup, going against Simagic and other better wheels straight up is even harder. Marketing wise, that is…

Moza R9 is miles ahead of the Fanatec CSL 8nm equivalent. Not even close. You can get the Moza R9 to feel exactly like the Simucube 2 Pro with tweaking. And i own both. Fanatec CSL is not even close in quality, build quality or feel.

Naa Fanatec all the way for me, cheers for the info though, always good to see what else is out there and there's room for improvement for all sim racing equipment

i wish buttons weren't pre labeled and instead selling sticker/button cap kit like fanatec does or you could just use dymo
@crunch64382 жыл бұрын
I've noticed this on even higher end wheels. Just leave the wheel blank, give us the stickers to label them if we want to (MOZA does provide a sticker kit).

Is it me, or do the paddle sound kinda odd? I was so close to buying the Moza base cuz I hear good things
@stevetadman62722 жыл бұрын
They sound awful. Fortunately they have supplied small rubber sound dampening pads to get it to a minimum.

Yeah i didnt like it but in package there is small rubber piece you put there to make it sound less. Tested in video :)

USB connectivity is cancer... I have to reinstall Samsung driver every time I want to connect my phone to my PC and put files on it. 🙄 sometimes tech is just gonna be tech - whatever you try. Also Will from Boosted Media said he had to dial out the noise from the Moza base using the software and then the FFB was possibly more high fidelity than the Fanatec base.
