I am not very old, I'm only in middle school, I play clarinet in band, When I am older, I plan on getting a scholarship in music. I would like to play like this some day. In additions to playing the clarinet, eventually I would like to get better at other instruments. Enough said, I completly agree as well, I don't even listen to much music other than classic, because it helps me see others play very well. If I listen to Mozart, the following generations will, too.

When I was your age, I was 1st chair French Horn playert. I switched from trumpet at my Band directors request, because I had natural ability so he decided to put me on a more challegeing instrument. I say if you are a more advanced player than your peers, you might have a chance if you persue. Good luck!

rbagel55 i have been told by my peers that i was important to the rest of the clarinet players in my band and that i play very well. at the end of my school year, we had a talent show. there were only three instrument players in the show, me being one of them. all of the others played music from parts of a book we have that are from like when you first learn what instrument your playing. i when above and beyond that and found a music sheet that was more for players two grades older than me at the time. p.s.- the other two were from a grade older than me lol. i rocked it, i honestly was a little scared when later that same day people (including teachers) kept coming up to me and saying i was awesome. there were like 30 people that told me that throughout the day. :)

IMAGINE! What the world would be like without wars. There are so many beautiful ways for humanity to express itself. Why should we even think of anything less?
@Albisriede9 жыл бұрын
+Rodrigo Lopes ~ History proves you mostly correct, and that is why I used the expression 'Imagine'. But history also proves, that people CAN and HAVE lived in peace, and have done so for longer periods than # 1 warmonger America has been in existence, a country formed by imbeciles no longer tolerated back on the British Isles. Some of those peaceful people were found by that violent bastard Columbus when he arrived on Hispaniola, where Natives had lived in peace for centuries without war. As such they were easy to subdue. Were they 'bored' because they didn't know war? I have my doubts. On a developmental / evolutionary level however, the principle of war is a regression. War, regardless of how sophisticated the weaponry, is most closely related to actions associated with our most primitive neural aspect, the pip-squeak reptilian brain, lowest of our five-part brain system. Is that sort of functioning something to be proud of for a so-called 'advanced being'? Probably not. If all Mozart had available - since we're on this page here - was that pea-sized brain, we would never hear any of this music, for the only uttering produced would be some growls, moans and huffs, but there may well be a lot more capable distance runners like your outstanding namesake from Portugal, Carlos Lopes. That just for kicks : - ) Have a great day.
@MLMLW9 жыл бұрын
+Rodrigo Lopes No need for war. We have competitive sports. Beat each other up on the playing field, not killing on a war field.

+SubtleKnowledge I've actually suspected for some time that there are people today who think life without violence would be boring. But just the thought that there are so many people who think war is necessary was too depressing, so I didn't bother to explore further.It just shows that regardless of scientific and technological progress we've made, human spirit seems to be incapable of true advance.
@Albisriede8 жыл бұрын
Wrong! The spirit is capable of advances we cannot possibly imagine with the material brain of ours. Most of us dumb fuckers (excuse my French) are stunted to the point where grasping anything outside of the material realm is no longer possible. Nature provides countless clues as to what our possibilities are. Like a tree, we can grow in two different dimensions: The root system and the above ground system, each relatively mirror one another. Of course there are carrots too, which mostly employ just one tap-root, but provide a beautiful, visible greenery above surface. So, in spite of my multiple shortcomings, I have decided to see the world as an opportunity to grow spiritually (and that may be our only purpose) and see where that takes me. So far i have little to complain about, but I do make the mistake fairly frequently to invent trouble where none should exist, probably just to test where the hell I am in my evolution ; - )
@stabiljka8 жыл бұрын
SubtleKnowledge People are not aware of the beauty of a material world, let alone of any kind of abstract ideas or spirituality. We are doomed. Even the world war is still a possibility. This should have been a time when a big wave should've been felt. A time when people communicate with each other and become more and more open. Instead, we have wars in undeveloped countries and depression and boredom in the most advanced ones. People have no clue about how beautiful life could be.

@lcdode8 жыл бұрын
It's ok to move like that but you can hear the sound changing and morphing as the instrument moves up and down. It's not necessarily musical either (the way that the tone mutates as she does it) She could still play beautifully with amazing phrasing and musicality without moving as much in my opinion. This way, the sound will be more even.

the low register starting around the 4 minute mark had me nearly orgasmic. I don't think most people appreciate how hard it is to go from above the staff to the bass of it. Clarinet has 4 octaves to it. She just jumped two ranges with absolutely no adjustment period. That is mastery. The tightness of your grip and lips on the top registry with the high and delicate sounds are so very different than the loose hollow meloncoly notes you must be of one continual low push from the base of your body outwards which also different from the chipper whimsical play that's happening around 9 minutes where you have to have a loose grip and a tight lip. The fact she can bounce so flawlessly is clear mastery that I did not appreciate until i got a clarinet back 5 years after having mine destroyed in a car wreck. This is the first weekend I've really tried playing it since I bought myself a used one as a birthday gift three weeks ago. Her mastery makes me giddy

Ms. Kam is actually playing a basset clarinet. Musicologists debate that this concerto was written for a basset clarinet for his friend Anton Stadler, a basset horn virtuoso. Some argue Mozart was convinced to use a clarinet, but since some of the notes are beyond the range of a clarinet in A, a basset clarinet was used instead. Now a days, K-622 is performed for basset clarinet.

Sharon Kam you’re so cool. I have a clarinet music playlist and your Mozart concerto is my favorite. It would such a grand honor and awesome experience to meet you one day.

Le bonheur absolu ! Quelle merveilleuse clarinettiste ! Elle "vit" littéralement cette œuvre somptueuse de Mozart, homme dont je persiste à penser qu'il avait quelque chose de quasiment divin. Je vibre encore de plaisir.
