Yea, He stole the whole opera! Common, don’t you know, most composers borrowed themes from others, creating their own variations. Huge numbers of compositions, especially symphonic, operatic and vocal were reworked national, folk melodies. Mozart, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky brought Marseilles into their symphonies for characteristic themes, etc
