His embouchure reminds me of Pahud's... So relaxed and natural it almost doesn't look like he's even blowing any air into the flute.

Indeed the tight embouchure is no good...so says Galway and I think he's correct....took me too long to realise this.

Yes, not only his embouchure seems as if there is no tension in the lips, especially the upper lip is completely loose - unbelievable! French embouchure? In addition, the artist looks very similar to Pahud, so that he could be his brother. He also comes from Switzerland ...

bel suono,ottima intonazione,staccato e dinamica,qualche sgrano di troppo ma il legno ha i suoi difetti.Bella anche la parte interpretativa,davvero bravo.

OMG I got here to listen to Sébastian Jacot, but looks like Patrick Gallois was the conductor!

Haha, the body of this flute was indeed from Haynes. As Jacques Zoon was playing with the Boston Symphony for a few years, he had a short collaboration with Haynes to make wooden flutes..they made only very few and I was lucky to buy this one from Jacques Zoon as he kept his original french flute on which this one is based. However, during this concert, since my head joint was cracked, I am using an Abell head joint that I borrowed shortly before the performance from the flutist and in this case conductor of the orchestra, Patrick Gallois.

I don't get how players play with the head pulled out so far. I love his playing and his 4 digit IQ 😉.I switched to wood Yamaha offset 874w. Took time to adjust to barrel diameter but I love it. Had a hell of a time with factory padding. Never take a brand new instrument to a gig!!
@johnnypooncy4 жыл бұрын
It looks very pulled out because his flute has a different tenon than your typical flute. This style of wood flute has the headjoint covering the tenon like a piccolo headjoint.
@johnnypooncy4 жыл бұрын
Sorry, I forgot to add that he is using a regular tenon wood headjoint on this flute, that’s why it looks pulled out when it isnt
@Frederer594 жыл бұрын
@@johnnypooncy Thanks! Some players do play pulled way out and sound perfectly in tune.

Hi Mr Jacot/Sebastian. Did you write the cadenza yourself? Really nice!! I have the opportunity to acquire a wooden Braun flute but not sure about the toughness of the instrument. How many times a year do you need to overhaul yours? Thanks and big regards from Belgium

Yep, I was sh******* myself thinking about having to play Nielsen Concerto right after this movement and not knowing it completely by memory yet ;-) Luckily Patrick was the perfect conductor to follow my memory exploring playing :-)

He's got a big thrill at the begining but since most people here didn't even notice, it's ok ! 😉
