Its almost like, this concerto, as others do I suppose, provide a picture of life. First movement: the beginning of life: joyful, full of potential, so many exciting things to experience. The second part, tragedy strikes, and yet, even though tragedy is present there remains this sense of glorious hope. The third part, joy comes, the trials are over, its time to rejoice.

The first recordings of the Piano Concertos of Mozart I heard were being played by Ingrid Haebler.

That middle movement...you can't help but wonder what Mozart was thinking and feeling when he wrote it.

The adagio is famous but please please hear Marianna Shirinyan in this music for a songful , quiet but communicative Mozart that seems to stand still in places where Haebler is grace ever moving forward . Famous names are not always best or most insightful and Haebler is my favorite Mozart player above Uchida,Pires,Perahia,Lily and so many others .Haebler adds some passages wonderfully 15:04,15:13 .,16:47. Is there any aria in a Mozart aria as songful as the Adagio ?

Thank you for the tip Marianna Shirinyan ! Had never heard her before, yes, great performance. Maybe I can give you a tip in return: its a very different Mozart: Jos van Immerseel - he recorded all Mozart concertos.
