Mozart's well known classical music pieces are breathtakingly melodic. Most of his compositions are utterly mind blowing.

It is literally at the gate of heaven & provides glimpses of the world beyond this one. It was even premiered at a concert hall in Vienna on the Himmelpfortgasse or "the gate heaven road". Very apt indeed.

Thank you, AmadeusMozart - sorry, I can't spell it the clever way that you do. I have just set aside two days (a Saturday and a Sunday) going through every single Mozart piano concerto from 15 to 27. without you I couldn't have done it because these are full length without the continual fiddle of separate movements! I truly love this music. I think that I discovered no 19 for the first time - beautiful! Nos 22 and 25 have such a great breadth, almost like piano symphonies. Anyway, thank you.

John Appleseed You win. I loved, as a child, hearing the story of "Johnny Appleseed." So I'll just leave it at this: I don't agree with what you've said, but I like your "name" :-). Mozart and his music don't need me to defend them. Neither do the people like me, past, present and future who are thankful and appreciative. Mozart gave us something very beautiful, with the power to make us feel, moved, happy, hopeful, etc. If you listen to his music and watch his operas; if the beautiful, things like that cute, sweet little "Papageno/Papagena" Aria near the end of "The Magic Flute" for example, don't fill your heart with so much joy that you can't contain it all and find it pushing tears down your face, then I feel sadness for you, not condescention, or anger, just great sadness.

I first heard the third movement in the 1980s, played on PBS by Vladimir Feltsman. It caught my attention immediately, but playing it considerably slower than it is here, he seemed to play it with great reverence and you could feast much more on every single note. It is a marvelous composition with a beautiful melody...this is a bit fast. Try it slower, I think you will enjoy it more...it has to be more at the speed of golf rather than race horse basketball!

@albertstemmett8006
@albertstemmett8006 9 жыл бұрын
+beethovenlovedmozart From his Biography you are probably correct. Written in the early part of 1791. He was working on Figaro ( revising to suit the singers) as well as "The Magic Flute" was already in dire financial straits6 Children and 4 of them dies within the first year. Mozart himself dies ( probably kidney or intestinal cancer on Dec 5th 1791. Next to Chopin and Beethoven, Mozart was probably the most prolific composer ---- Often writing overtures to his operas only hours before the performance in Vienna.
@beethovenlovedmozart
@beethovenlovedmozart 7 жыл бұрын
I suppose there is a "chance" Mozart revised this in 1791 which is why I hear some of his later techniques. He did that a lot.

BTW, starting at 7:20 is a prime example of why I think it wasnt written in 1788.

Just out of curiosity, what makes Beethoven or Chopin more prolific composers over say someone like Schubert? Also I have never heard of Beethoven writing anything hours before a performance. People use his deafness as an excuse, but I dont. Most great composers wrote before playing it. Mozart was absolutely a prolific composer, but curious why you put Beethoven and Chopin in same category.

To: Am4d3usMůz4rt Thank you for this beautiful concerto with Paul Badura-Skoda (among pianists the greatest interpreter of Mozart)! However. I would have a request: Would it be possible to get back the Larghetto part separately, like it was earlier? It was called Piano Chill. I ask, because in this version there are some more notes at a couple of places (for instance abt 18.20 - and more), and I find them superfluous, and a bit disturbing to the serene simplicity of this utterly beautiful part They may of course belong to the original partiture, but I think this part is more tranquil without them.

This concerto, in common with a number of Mozart's, has numerous instances where the pianist is called upon to waggle two fingers on a pair of keys for a few seconds. That's a cute little filip, but it doesn't really do much to advance the theme, does it?
