10:05 incredible harmonic passage here, how he gets to that Bbmaj7/D is incredible

I'm going to state with a great deal of confidence that, with 76 years yet remaining, Cho will be considered as one of the greatest pianists of the 21st century.

spectacular interpretation and performance of this exceptional Mozart sonata, very tasteful timing, phrasing, subtle ritardandi, legato, balance, articulation, dynamics, everything! very musical, and delivered with an exquisite clarity...

I recommend you to check-out another Korean pianist's -- Do-Hyun Kim's -- interpertation of this sonata
1:10 It sounds exactly like how beethoven developed his motifs in his early sonatas
@johnvalentine4720Ай бұрын
True, but whether he cared to admit it or not, Beethoven owed much more to Haydn.

Da quí sono partiti gli altri compositori.....percepisco armonie riprese poi da altri...come Beethoven....ed anche operisti come Giuseppe Verdi....ad un certo punto la melodía del primo movimento fa proprio :"la donna é mobile...."

It's nice, but he needs a Toscanini or Karl Böhm standing by the piano to help him keep the tempo steady

It sounds a lot like Beethoven
@Fryderyk_Franciszek3 жыл бұрын
They both share the same roots, however, Mozart is very easy to recognize. Beethoven is much more anarchic in his music. In the case of Mozart, every single note is where it is supposed to be, meanwhile, in the case of Beethoven .... well, Beethoven’s music was designed to be heard in the world of war, censorship, and political and philosophical battles in which it was written. His music is full of burning questions, yet refuses to come to any easy conclusions. To summarizing, as I said before, they both share the same roots but their music scores are opposite. I beg your pardon, but this Sonata doesn't sound at all like Beethoven's.

@@Fryderyk_Franciszek Beethoven is far from being "anarchist". I would call him instead revolutionary and far more brilliant. Infinitely far above Mozart.
@Fryderyk_Franciszek3 жыл бұрын
@@eduardoguerraavila8329 I'm not calling him "anarchist" but I said his music is "anarchic" which has a whole different meaning in English. As for personal considerations, it's not my intention to take part in the eternal and fictional discussion of Mozart vs Beethoven.

What's your idea of classicism? Marmo freddo e glaciale?

Unfortunately as Mr. Cho knows for sure, this interpretation is so empty and bad that sounds like an attempt and first encounter with Mozart as such. I feel sorry for you. Maybe in the future you would do better...

@Whatismusic1236 ай бұрын
@@Trazom488 I am certain his interpretation would be better. this interpretation is quite literally amateurish. absolutely does not understand mozart's music at all, the commenter's description is quite apt. it is as if he's playing mozart for the first time.

Im not saying youre wrong i just genuinely want to learn more about mozart. How would you change this to be more in line with mozarts style? @Whatismusic123
