The presentation by Claudio Arrau is providing such great insight into Mozart's Sonatas. To many Mozart's Sonatas are indeed a group of fine works, the presentation partly explains why these sonatas are absolutely GREAT works and should be treated very seriously.

The legendary 1956 series unfortunately does not contain this sonata. Perhaps because of an edition that Lili Kraus used and which does not reference it. The last Mozart sonatas are a bit confusing in terms of edition and reference number.

@Remo Mazzetti perhaps it was not included as there is not a third movement in the KV . I played a beautiful Rondo as a Finale as it was very much in the contrapuntal style of the 2 movements, the second being one of his most adventuresome. Lili Kraus was a favorite student of Artur Schnabel.

To me the greatest. In his best works. After him something became too serious. And personal. Do you like Mozart mr.Albert Einstein ?. Oh I love Mozart, the music is like universe itself is revealing its secrets. Do you like Beethoven? No, its too personal. Another thing about these composers is that Piano Concerto no.20-D-Minor by Mozart, was Beethovens favorite. He performed it many times. He said, they do not compose music like this anymore. The other great thing is that the cadenzas of this concerto are written by Beethoven. ( Mozarts cadenzas are either lost or he never wrote them on paper)So we got Mozart and Beethoven on the same piece of music. The version of Lili Krauss is my all time favorite. Its amazing.
