Бог музыки -- это да👍🏻; но вот насчёт скорости я имею сомнения. Откуда известно, что именно 16 дней? Быстро сочинял он всё-таки более простые произведения. Но не такие гигантские шедевры! One thing people should remember, is that this piece was written in 1788, and Mozart was hip to the currents of his time. There is the furious optimism and energy of the early Revolution in this piece. It was a key moment in history, a peak experience, a discovery of liberation and invention. No wonder it was also a peak in music history, with this piece.

Had Mozart lived, say, 21 more years, having the same lifespan as Beethoven's 56 years, what he would have achieved is unimaginable. On the other hand, there might not have been a Beethoven except as some backbench footnote, or a Beethoven even more eclipsed by Mozart as Schubert was by Beethoven.

scott, you are so right. I ijust can't even imagine. I always wish I could go back in time to just before he died, take a fake version of him that would convince everyone he did, but just before he got too sick, and putting the fake in the coffin, and bury it, get modern doctors to nurse him to health, which they probably could have done with today's medicine technology. and then introduce him to cinema score writing and other such things, and the computer where he could compose on the computer instead of paper and have access to all kinds of music, he would outdo john Williams, I say this, because in a sense this would be a sort of opera way of doing things, but he could still write symphonies, operas, everything.
