I was chorister at Derby Cathedral 1952-1957 and have many treasured memories of this superb instrument. Thank you Jonathan for giving us a wonderful performance of this work showing this organ at it's best bringing back these treasured memories.

Fine Mozart. Rivals his playing of the 40th. Symphony first movement in Taiwan. (Note Jonathan's pose on the Title screen. It's right off one of the posters for "Amadeus"). As far as I know there are no organ versions of Bruckner Symphonies. Johnathan could do it. (Bruckner was a great organist too). From Chicago, U.S.A.

An amazing performance: many thanks. Just goes to show how Comptons became such a significant firm of organ-builders. I can't be the first on here to wonder what the other console was there for? Some sort of misguided attempt to introduce an electronic? Hopefully not!

I'm not a big fan of Mozart and I wish Jonathan would give more time to Renaissance and Baroque composers but having said that this is still a fantastic performance and the organ has a wonderfully English sound. Of course the next time Mozart is the subject matter may I suggest St. Bavo in Haarlem or Salzburg Cathedral.

Good composition. Either way despite I don't like reformed churches as they are sober and far from the baroque rococó magnificence, at least the pipe organ looks good 😂

@acid823 Жыл бұрын
I know pretty well that Henry viii didn't found a real reformed church ,but the doctrine is purely calvinist. then of course the crucifix, the images etc remained but even st Paul is far from a normal central european baroque church.@@epincion
