Oh my goodness! First of all well done for choosing the organ AND accoystics for the piece - reverb just right which brought out the articulation. Kudos to Tom for making the most of that - superb sound. I really thought I'd miss the tymps which I normally air play in that but didn't, proving that dear old Ludwig must have added them later as an afterthought! Jonathan, your swell pedal use is grossly underrated. To make an organ sound like a full orchestra with crescendo and dimmimuendos sounding so natural when you can only control that with one foot is remarkable. I just hope the grumpy old man's hearing was restored when he went upstairs, as I think even he'd be cracking a smile at that interpretation.

After hearing Jonathan play I'm thinking that Beethoven's symphonies are really organ pieces that he-Ludwig- transcribed for orchestra. Jonathan is just now bringing them to their true realization. Can't wait for the 7th symphony on the king of instruments.

No matter which organ is played we always seam to have registrations that are perfect as if Jonathan as played the instrument for years, and my favourite comment for all is that we hear all transcriptions without wading in a cloud of too many or overloaded stops, your transcriptionsf being played by an orchestra. All this once again aided by fantastic recording from Tom , no overload and manages the building acoustics somehow. Please carry on your fantastic work gentlemen, many thanks once again.

Bravo Bravo! Standing ovation for this Beethoven Scherzo Molto Vivace. Wow, how rapid are your reflexes in changing touch pistons. No "next" toe piston as you have on a number of your organs. Thanks to Dr. Tom for his usual excellent audio/visual recording. Although you are the "star", Jonathan, remember the one who operates the recording sound board and the placement of the mikes can make the organist sound fantastic and mediocre. Be nice to Tom!! Joking aside, you two brothers work very well together.

I hate to say this, but this is the first time I have listened to a Jonathan Scott transcription, and thought that it didn't really work. The main trouble is it was difficult/impossible to properly represent the Timpani part on the organ, and that is such a distinctive part of this piece. Having it without the distinctive belt of the Timpani just really didn't work for me. That said, it was still a magnificent performance, and kudos to Jonathan for the performance and to Tom for the recording and videography.

During the bigger sections, where timpani would be clearly defining the "duple" effect of the dotted-rhythm, you'd be better served by just playing 2 dotted-quarters in each to bring out the effect, instead of trying to play the eighth in proper context, since we can't hear it anyway.
