Menuhin was an ambassador of God not just for his music, but for his love, kindness and forgiveness of his fellow human being.

Menuhin had a special relationship to this Concerto. At age 8 in San Francisco, he asked his teacher Pershinger if he could learn to play Beethoven's beautiful Violin Concerto. His teacher agreed on the condition that he should first flawlessly play Mozart's Fifth Violin Concerto. Hastily, the boy agreed but did a sloppy job at rehearsing it. When his mother Imma learned of this, she asked her husband to give Yehudi 'a good licking', which he tried his best at. Afterwards, Menuhin felt that the punishment did not go amiss, as it put him back where he belonged, namely at being 8 years old and enjoying Mozart for now.

Ambrosia for the soul! Surreal! Magnificent! Menuhin wields the violin like Lord Krishna handles his Sudarshan Chakra or Lord India deftly manages his Vajra!

When was this recorded? An where?
@jackburgess2742 жыл бұрын
It was recorded in 1965. I don't know where. I recommend Chloe Chua's recent performance. It is much more elevated in spirit and as bursting with life as can be. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eZi0pIShhtypfLs
