I'd also make the arguement that any company that puts voice chips into their toys should give fans the option. But considering the fact that this toy is one of the most expensive MPs, I'd expect a little more than just the Japanese clips that aren't as iconic to the character for the rest of the world

Takara make these only for distribution in Japan, I know it doesn't seem that way because consumers will have no difficulty obtaining these figures from an online store but those are just *imports* . Hasbro would be responsible for distributing this figure internationally and if by some miracle it got a proper US release it would be up to Hasbro to include English voice clips. In my opinion the notion of voice clips for these kinds of figures just seems absurd, don't get me wrong I love me some David Kaye but for a figure that has no other purpose than to stand upon someone's shelf and look pretty a voice box seems extremely arbitrary. It's "neat" I guess but it serves no practicality and most people will not use it that much anyway. Perfect gimmick for a kids toy but for a collector's figure that already sets you back a couple hundred bucks it's a pointless feature that just tacks on more to the cost.

@@chocobobafett6187 Well Takara Tomy would have to go through loops contacting through more licenses and of course from Hasbro as well in order to get those English voice clips from the show. This costs money for Takara Tomy, and they'll increase the price further because they have to gain profit back due to licensing. If the fans really want the english voice clips, it is best they announce it to Hasbro ahead of time. Speaking of which MP-44 Convoy (Optimus Prime) is coming soon this year in August 2019, this figure will have voice clips from the JP show. If Hasbro cares enough for their main IP/money grab character, they'd put the english voice clips from the show onto the North American release; or if Hasbro gives the okay for Takara Tomy to add the english voice clips to the JP version. Thus if you folks want to have the english voice clips for further Transformers figure releases contact Hasbro.

Such a great review, absolutely loved it! This figure looks as close to the actual Megatron that we're probably ever gonna get, and you did a great job displaying all the parts, accessoires (that toothbrush is hysterically genius!) and lights + sounds. That end piece was very 'excellent, yessss'! Really shows a skit like can be even better if you can use multiple faceplates on a figure, which you put to great use.

Until a few years ago, I never actually saw any episodes of Beast Wars besides the first appearance of the Transmetals and the first of the Fuzors, so I had no idea what the beast mode of Megatron before transmetalization looked like. In Japan, Megatron was voiced by Shigeru Chiba, who, fun fact, also appears in Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger as Dr. Ulshade and the voice of the Kyoryugers' equipment. *GABURINCHO!* The female voice you heard was the Darksyde's computer, named NAVI-ko in the Japanese dub.
