I agree with you on DX-9 Gabriel. I'm a Fanstoys Fanboy and will always go that direction except in this one case, where DX-9 made the best figure.

I've had the KFC citizen stack in bot mode next to my MP01 optimus and MP09 rodimus in visor, buzzsaw blade, hot rod mode for years and they look great together. I got them second hand, so I don't know of that UM has the sxs upgrade kit or not. At ~$75, I have the delta Magnus version and a custom black & teal 'nemesis' version of that KFC mold, and not only do they go nice with the OSKOs MPP10 and MMP10 color variants, they're ~1:24 scale so can go with other vehicle lines (binaltech, alternator, jadatoys, model kits, etc.) and are the best available scale with human sized figures from human alliance, M.A.S.K., and various 2", 2.5" figures made by marvel.

I am surprised that there has been no Third Party interest in Broadside/Broadsword?? (the third Autobot triple changer) the original concept of an alt mode of a plane and the other alt mode an aircraft carrier the plane could land on was peculiar scale wise but then Octane was just as weird (fuel tanker truck and a jumbo jet) and we have a couple of choices for him. I for one would like to be able to have all six triple changers on a masterpiece shelf. Pointblank by MakeToys was definitely a toe-in-the-water to see if enough people would bite, before they did other Targetmasters, and clearly not enough of us did because no one else has done one or attempted any of the other characters. I just hope that Maketoys do finish the Autobot Headmasters, with FansToys and KFC(?) having already taken care of the Decepticons. I think FansToys shot themselves in the foot with their teaser of Cerebros. Lots of people would dive in on that because of who was making it but very few (if any) would double up to get a Fortress Maximus body to go with it (at that scale and FansToys prices the way they are- it would be a $1,000+ toy)!

Broadside would be huge and really cool! Maketoys should know by now that their headmasters would sell very well and a reissue of Pointblank would be huge!

Going FT for some figures will lock others for scale sticklers. FT Hoodlum for example would be way too big standing with MMC Azalea, while FT Rouge would tower over Takara Hot Rod.

There is TONS as in LOTs as in a MAJORITY of People want/have an interest in many of these figures that have not been given chance to be on a collectors shelf. If only they were given teh chance. Some have lots of leeway built in, and as long as the engineering, colors, and likeness is there, they will sell. In the meantime.......... we are getting 5 more versions of Optimus Prime by 8 different companies.................... I get it OP is a fetish for some

G1 Chrome and Slapdash were my first two transformers when I was young. So it was definitely a long wait before we got new headmasters again

Dx9 Rodimus is not IDW but OX studio style. Ocular Max Arcee is OX studio/G1 style

I have the takara Rodimus Prime, but have never taken it out of the box because it is the original release and I am worried about breakage. I have Fans Toys Springer (love it), but also have the XTB on order. Hopefully it comes out this year and is worth the wait. Love the KFC Junkions. I have five of the six.

You are right to leave it in the box. I'm about to try the shoulder fix with replacement parts on my Hasbro one in the next few days actually. I played with it, but when i found it broken, it had been placed back in package for a few months. I walked in to pick it up, & that shoulder spring had broken just sitting in pack. BS cause I really had to luck out to find it in a Toys r Us, back in the day.

Even though it is a Studio Ox design, I much prefer DX9's Carry by a lot. I really dislike that MP Rodimus design, especially its face. From what I've seen, the MMC Arcee is overall the best. Rouge is a flimsy mess, Takara's chest is way off, and ToyWorld's offering, as you stated, has half an alt mode. Also, I'm waiting for an Ultra Magnus that I like. It's weird that he's my favourite G1 character and I still don't have a representation of him.

The engineering from DX9 was great for Carry and still no perfect Arcee but MMC surprised me with that offering

DX9 Carry, like some of their MP stuff, is more Studio Ox than straight G1. As for Takara, I actually prefer the MP09B Black Rodimus Convoy version...complete with Decepticon symbol, followed by the regular MP09. Can't get with the wonky color scheme of the Hasbro version (his headlights ain't supposed to be blue, for starters...), or the fact that they changed him into a glorified Targetmaster Hot Rod by yeeting the trailer in favor of Firebolt. The MMC Roadbuster & Whirl are more intended for CHUG than MP. And Roadbuster is still too small; he needs to be like large Leader class or so (like around the height of LGEX God Ginrai) to scale properly. The Jumpstarters...the third-party options were definitely CHUG. They were pretty good for their day, but you're absosmurfinlutely correct, the Titans Return offerings *_DESTROY THEM._* FansToys has Fortress Maximus on the drawing board...who knows when they'll actually finally do it. But it seems odd that they're doing him and not Metroplex.

I had 3 copies of DX9 Gabriel. All 3 were broken right out of the box. Stripped shoulder ratchets in each one. Wouldn't recommend

Still, Optimus Prime seems to be the easiest to pick because it has so many models to choose from. Some toys modeled from the Season 3 characters have similar looks but several QC, transformations and other issues were really evident

I'm not a fan of the siege line at all...sept Springer, earthrise and kingdom look amazing and I'm no Where near thrilled at how much Hasbro is charging for main line now but I recently pulled the trigger on studio series 86 hotrod at Wal-Mart then a few days later my target got in cyclonus and galvatron and finding galvatron hidden I couldn't resist picking up both, still pissed I payed over $80 for 2 voyager scales at retail but now I'm hooked on the 86 movie bots... so expensive! I can tell ya this if Wei jiang or whoever ko oversizes any of the studio series 86 movie/kingdom bots those are going to be the definitive versions of those characters in masterpiece scale and I will be all in I don't care if it's open play that does it with zero diecast!

I'm guessing you either don't have the figure or misunderstand what C.H.U.G. and/or scale mean. Big spring is the same height as MP10 in bot mode; and is significantly bigger than generations Springer (Voyager class) in all three modes. There are multiple video reviews on youtube that include size comparisons. It might do your opinion some good to watch/re-watch some of them.

"PAINT" has nothing to do with scale, unless it's layered on thick enough to increase its size by inches 🤭 Similar things could be said for the other items you placed in ALL CAPS when comparing them to "**scale." Is OP big spring CHUG scale? No Is OP big spring MP scale? Yes Is OP big spring "more like CHUG scale" (like you initially typed/commented)? No Is OP big spring "more like MP scale" (like I 'rebuttal-ed')? Yes

I am happy with my Warbotron Technobots, my only gripe is the Computron head is too small for the rest of the figure. I don't know what became of Warbotron but I wish they had issued an accessory/fix of a larger head.
