Hi Mike I just started learning slide guitar by seeing you play. However I’m so confused about many things like how do you maintain sustain while when I play and do a slide vibrato the note dies in an instant(btw I’m using 9 guage string). Also would like to know which guage string you are using and tone setup.

I’m not Mike but a heavier gauge string and raising the action should help. Slide player’s personality comes down to how you slide into a note, how you deal with the 3rd and vibrato, vibrato, vibrato. Good luck.

@@LydianLunch I think I actually found out why the notes were ‘dying’ instantly. It was the multi fx pedal I was using joyo gem box that had expression pedal too. When I directly plugged my guitar to the amp notes were sustaining way longer than through the pedal.

Not to bad Mike. With a good vocal coach and some guitar pedals to mask your playing, you could be a decent artist…oh and maybe get a real guitar😂 With all due respect and what not
