Uhuru didn't impeach Ruto. Ruto had more UDA MPs aligned to him than Uhuru. Indeed if Ruto had managed to seal a deal with Raila, then they could have impeached Uhuru. The handshake was an urgent measure to steady Uhuru's regime in the face of onslaught from Ruto.
