Rajasthan opted for tourism that is service sector and reaped high benefits. MP lacked leadership vision. Now they started with religious tourism. UP invested in infra, tourism and defense corridor. It is nice to see India growing. Except Bihar

Also , Raj may have been poor but it has never been weak or unambitious ,they have always been adventurous & entrepreneurs , even the richest people in Bengal are Marwaris. Hello sir, I think there is some spurious analysis towards the end of this video. If Rajasthan does not figure in the highest GSDP growth rate states (as shown at the start of the video) and yet it is close to national average; shows to me that the starting point in 2010/11 was already reasonably good for Rajasthan. What Madhya Pradesh has done in terms of the GSDP growth (albeit from agriculture) is commendable. I would also question the metric on 10 year+ education percentage. The initiatives run by the Shivraj government are barely 10 years old focusing on primary and secondary education. It’s not mathematically possible for those schemes to improve the metric under question. I come from the state and it is astonishing how much transformation has happened not just in cities but deep inside villages.

I am a follower of print for a long time but I have one complain that I find the reporting always biased against Bihar. You use the phrase “Bihar which ranks at the bottom of everything that we know “ when you very conveniently hid the growth rate of Bihar in the first chart. We all know that the state has been growing consistently at around 10% for the past one decade but no appreciation for that fact. Recent Niti Ayog’s report also praised the state for highest reduction in poverty percentage but all you cared about in that episode was UP couldn’t do better and again a biased remark against Bihar. Sir being a journalist and with some common sense you should be aware of the fact that a small appreciation for the weaker section is like thunderstorm of motivation but a constant rebuke is just like another nail in the coffin. I hope you take this comment in good stride and do a series on the achievements in Bihar like immensely successful immunization program. Also do a fact check Bihar’s mater mortality ratio is much better than Madhya Pradesh, I hope this was just a mistake on your part and not a result of your clouded views against one state and it’s people.

its disappointing that the programme is poorly edited. Lots of repetitions and reading from obvious graphs. No consistancy in graphs across various indicators and data is not comprehensive. For example, Rajasthan growth rate in last decade is not mentioned any where. Similarly is the agriculture growth is catching up with other states by per acre productivity or just that past backlogs are getting set right. If the growth is through better productivity or better irrigation we should compliment the government, otherwise not. One more issue we need to see is whether this growth is good for the country. Central government is already telling in loud voices, of course not in last 6 months, that we should move away from rice/wheat to pulses, whereas MadhyaPradesh seems to have done exactly reverse. This may be brought out clearly for better perspective.

What was education disparity before 10yrs 5 yrs and now how did both the govts perform. Rahulji has given detailed blue print on how to develop Rajasthan. Rajasthan is growing at such a speed that economists cannot keep up. Investment is pouring into Rajasthan. The clerks cannot count the wads of cash fast enough. Vadraji is buying off more and more land in anticipation that he will hit it big and he has never been wrong. People of Rajasthan worship Rahulji as their responsible son, brother and father. People of Rajasthan are seeing they will be the most developed state in India by the end of this year. They will vote for Rahulji again knowing they all will get incredibly rich to afford Rolls Royce. This is Rahulji's power and genius. I hope people of Rajasthan will surrender their land to Rahulji for the contribution he has made to their state.

For all the indicators it's better if you compare with where the states started and where they have reached in last say 10 to 20 years. Like you used GDP figures from last 10 years to show the growth rate. # For comparing between states raw number along with percentage makes more sense e.g. RJ MP GSDP per capita @constant (62907 to (43022 to (2011 to 2019) 88463) 70015) %increase. 40% 62% So basically we may perceive all BIMARU states to be at the same level but it is never the case. WOW such an Extraordinary BIASED presentation, Two Most Important Factors Determining a State's Future Growth are CAPEX(Building Roads,Schools, Hospitals, Railroads etc) And Fiscal Prudency(Low Debt), MP a BJP Ruled State has been Spending a Massive 18% on Capex while khangress ruled Raj. Only&ONLY spends a Punic 4%, And MP Debt to GDP is only 22.4% while Rajasthan is at 39%, Becoz MP is Focusing on Generating Massive Sustainable Growth with Low Debt with Massive Infra Building, Narrow minded Raj. Is Focusing on Short term growth with Massive Debt and Simply Distributing it to People as Freebies

Expect States like UP & MP to do a lot better over the next 5-7 years specially in Services & UP to an extent in manufacturing too. Reason behind this is the coming of age of multiple Tier 2 cities like Indore, Bhopal in MP & Lucknow-Kanpur along with NCR Cities of Noida-Gr.Noida & Ghaziabad as upcoming IT & Manufacturing Hubs. We might see the impact over the next 5-7 years. Not to forget both UP & MP are now actively turning towards Religious Tourism which is expected to further help the Per Capita Income. Another kind of Tourism that they could focus on could be Fort Tourism where both MP & UP can together develop Bundelkhand region which has a lot of historical forts. Most people in India know that Rajasthan is famous for its Forts & Culture but Bundelkhand region also has a lot of forts with immense tourism potential, only if connectivity is improved, this Bundelkhand-Chambal belt can prosper immensely & help both MP & UP. MP needs to also take a little cue from UP & initiate programmes like One District-One Product (ODOP), focus on Infrastructure connectivity to reduce cost of logistics, ensure more Women get educated uptill Class 10 over the next 5 years (target 40% & atleast 50% for men), ensure each District gets a Medical College which could greatly help improve the Maternal Mortality Indicators etc. Maybe incentivise women who are in college to start their own businesses by offering subsidized loans so that they become independent. Overall MP needs to focus on getting manufacturing upto 25% over the next 5 years if it wants to achieve a good ranking in Prosperity Index.

1. There is a explanation for agrarian growth in Madhya Pradesh. That is the enormous growth of dalit/tribal farmers. These communities historically make major portion of landless labourers of India and now they own farmlands which is contributing to agricultural growth in M.P. 2. Rajasthan has done fairly better than M.P. for a long time in terms if economy. Its not a recent trend. 3. Difference between in how two states are doing shown parameters is directly influenced by where respective govts are focusing their budget on. In M.P. budget focuses on traditional growth based on welfare policies for rural areas. Its necessary because thats where poor people live. 3. The term BIMARU was a biased term then and it is even now. It makes fun of poorness of northern states. 4. BJP got the reign of state in 2003-04, a decade after near collaspe of indian economy thanks to Congress govt. In terms of fiscal years, thats not many years ago. I would say bimaru state has done well under BJP. 5. You can show support to your favourite party without hiding. Its not a bad thing. No one will judge you.

Sir, you have to show the growth rates of the individual sectors and not just their contribution. In case of MP - initially you rightly said that contribution of agriculture increasing doesn't mean manufacturing and services declined. But later in 14th min you contradicted yourself. Also interesting would be to see the CAGR of the Rs per tonne of agriculture output. Did that increase or decrease.

As the world traveler walked away from the Bihar students he spoke to the camera and said almost every country he goes he runs into medical students from Bihar. If true it looks like Bihar is suffering a brain drain. Thailand became a successful example of good medical tourism.
