This film was shown at the Democratic National Convention on 13 August 1956. Senator John F. Kennedy hosts the program, promoting the Democratic Party and how it supports the American way of life. The film reviews the history of the US and notable historical figures including Thomas Jefferson, James Monroe, Andrew Jackson, Abraham Lincoln, Grover Cleveland, William Jennings Bryan, Woodrow Wilson, Warren Harding, Calvin Coolidge, Herbert Hoover, and Franklin Roosevelt. Discussing Harry S. Truman's presidency, the film highlights the Truman Doctrine, the Marshall Plan, the 1948 Campaign, the “Kaltenborn” mimic, establishing NATO, the Berlin Airlift, the Korean War, and the Fair Deal. The program goes on to show how the Democrats left the nation in 1953, and how the nation could progress if a Democrat were elected in 1956.
