Yes. I’m not completely sure but I think you can use the slide fader bar on he left to adjust the loop edits. I’ve been using the MPC One for the last couple years so I’m trying to remember. This same function is now on the MPC One.

Nice! I love my 2500 with the JJOS. I was able to do this trick on my 2000XL, but it didn’t have the option to control the direction of the echo/reverb/fade.

Recycle let’s you stretch tails but only if it already exists so you can make it decay for longer. It couldn’t do what you just demonstrated with a chopped ending so I think what you have shown is unique. I have an MPC 1000 but running the free JJOS I plan to get JJOSxl soon.

Yeah I don’t understand why it’s not included in other samplers. I use it literally all the time. It’s very helpful as a delay as well so you’re not using 1 of the only 2 effects options.

Yeah I dont know if itd be worth updating now that hes charging more for the OS, but I guess it would depend on your workflow and if its useful at all. I use it all the time and no other program has this function that moves this quick to do this process.

@@nocturnalron69 will do! the restoration is mostly internal coz the jogwheel is dead and most of the tactile buttons are not stable, the guy i bought it from used and abused it for 7 years, it's got paint chipping off the angles and it's really dope looking so i'm not gonna change that. just cleanup and fixing internals. the 2500 has the weirdest looking encoder i've ever seen, it's discontinued, i dont wanna pay so much money for a basic PCB so i'm gonna be ghetto modding a new encoder in the PCB and probably swapping the tactile buttons

hello, maybe you can answer my question on mpc1000 2xl, if i select a pad as a target, say pad 3 LPF, it does not work unless i am on track 3, is it possible to make it work disregardless which track i am on somehow?

Nocturnal Ron so I’m learning my live at the moment, focusing purely on standalone before I branch out and start using the software and a daw. What are the pads like? I hear they’re not that good. I’m also thinking about getting a 2000xl so how does the 1000 compare to that? I hear mixed reports about which one sounds better. I’m really into my Lofi, so looking for something which will give me some crunchy sounds to accompany my SP202 & 303.

@@VestanPance2007 I think the pads are not that good, although I did get the fat pads and they're a little better. I do like that you can take the 1000 everywhere easily and just plug and sample, but I prefer the 2000xl for the sound over all the other Mpc's. It just has a very warm sound. I had a 2000xl for about 10 years before the 1000 and I definitely noticed the difference in sound. -Ron

@@F_letc.h Hey Brian. You have to make an instrument program to do this . There is a Drum program which holds all types of sounds which is typically used for drums, and there’s also an instrument program which allows you to do what you’re asking, which is play one sound throughout all pads. Yeah i tried this on a couple of samples. One thing i did find is that the sample needs to be a minimum length otherwise you get a 'sample not long enough' error. Still cool though, been using it and the double filter bit aswell....Havin fun....cheers Ron

Hey Alledged Offender. I get that message as well sometimes but that’s only when the sample loop points aren’t set correctly more than the sample being too short. I’ve sampled snares that are half a second and used this method to extend the sound. If that makes sense.

Hey OveXzZz , its just tape to hold the sensors on. It makes it more sensitive not having the pads on but mine were just not working until I replaced the pads and sensor board. I prefer to midi the Mpc to a keyboard or another pad source anyway since the pads on this Mpc are not very good. At least not as good as the 2000 or 2000xl. -Ron

Hey Ron, a lil different subject matter question. How does the FX work with JJOS2XL? It seems to work the same way on Akai OS and free JJOS but the toggles to turn it on and off on 2XL seem inactive. I used to have a 2000xl and just got a 1000 so this is a little different for me. Thanks for the info!

Nocturnal Ron On the Akai or free JJ you go Mode+Effect and choose your effect. Then you go Mode+Mixer+F3 for the FX send and you can turn the effect on and off. On JJOS2XL it won’t allow me to turn the effect on. So I’m asking is there a different way or did it change with JJOS2XL.

I think maybe Ensoniq ASR10 (& EPS?) do these functions, but I’m not sure if it’s exactly the same kind of result. Pretty sure it’s similar, and maybe even with other options, such as crossfading in other samples as well, which can be modulated with velocity or aftertouch etc. Potentially flexible for pitched/synth stuff, but also drum programming I would think. Someone else here maybe be able to confirm in practice

Nocturnal Ron did You replace sensors? Where did You get these conductive rubber? I've try to mix the graphite and silicone rubber but it doesnt work, copper tape gives full 127 level I dont want this. Finally i've separated old sensors, cleaned the textolite and glue back turned over old sensors. And it work much better but not exellent. Please, recommend the cheap way to get out of these situation.

Donal Finn you're dead right about things becoming outdated and unsupported. I bought the Maschine when it dropped and when I wanted to upgrade to the Maschine 2.0, I needed a new computer to go along with it. My MPC 500 & 1000 will always do what they do, make beats.

What up SVDO? You can still get one but just note that its a stand alone sampler so you just plug in and sample, no computer. You can still transfer wavs (usb port) and track out and midi and all that though. The pads suck but I midi to my keyboard anyway so Its not an issue. Ive had mine for 10 years now and its been cool. Let me know if you have any other questions and Ill try to answer. Look at MPCstuff.com for what they have because they refurbish Mpcs and would probably give some sort of warranty. - Noc

Thanks for the quick response brother, I'm actually looking for a stand alone sampler, hate to do beats on my computer, I was thinking about getting a 1k because it's "cheaper" here where I live, after the mpc 500 of course, Brazil is good to live but things here are really very expensive, anyway, have you ever thought about buying a SP 303? or a 404 for example, are sampler too and are also very compact !

SVDO Word. Yeah I’ve looked into other samplers but none have this function that I made the video for. If they do have it, it’s a longer process which messes up my workflow. I have the JJOSXL2 upgrade which is not the Akai version. I bought a year after I got mine and I’ve loved the workflow. But do the research before you buy it and see if it’s something you’ll like cause I think he’s charging 100$ for it now . The Mpc 2500 is better all around but bigger and will also work with the JJOsxl2.

@@nocturnalron69 As far as I can tell it works exactly like this. Simply loop a sample (forward, backward and crossfade is supported.. though the crossfade amount is an annoying extra "popup" box where you set the amount of crossfaded samples). Then go into the main program edit page and set it so that it uses an envelope (ADSR) instead of being a one-shot thing. Then simply play with the release control, just like here in your example. Mind you, while I do like my MPC Live, it's definitely got quite a bit of shorcomings and feels much more like a "computer" (which it is! It runs Linux in the background) than the older MPC models.

Just get a 1000/2500. The XL is a dope machine, but the processor is too slow. Certain tasks (like time stretching) takes forever. The 2500 is basically an MPC2000XL GT Turbo. 😛
