AKAI is out to dominate the DAW-less creation station market. This is an excellent demonstration of the incredible sonic power that you get from this platform. Now they’re about to unleash a whole new level of possibilities w/ V3 update. I’ve owned synths and samplers of all kinds since the 1980s. There’s just no way that you can get more bang for your money than this!

I'm a heavy rock guitar player. Sometimes I play the keyboard. At that time, I use a stage keyboard or a synth based on computer. Anyway, there's a lot of equipment, and I'm having trouble setting it up and transporting it. The Komplete Kontrol S49 and Maschine Soft have a wide range of capabilities, but they are not suitable for live performances. The space and area required for installation is also very limited. I'm currently thinking that mpc37 might be the best solution. I would like to go to the practice studio by bicycle or train without a car. A car is another burden to pay for parking and space. It takes extra time and effort. MPC37 can play patterns and play the keyboard without using a computer.

You can actually get these plugins as vsts normally on your computer. They’re made by Air Music Tech and they’re pretty mediocre. It has some simple, quick usable stuff, some good synth emulations and sounds, but mostly terrible acoustic and realistic intruments. Of course the guy plays pretty well which makes any sound sound good.
@TheChrisVella11 ай бұрын
The vsts definitely do the job in my experience. I was actually quite surprised that it included plugins I’m already familiar with! And cheers about the playing, I think even for people that don’t play too much can get away with creating some decent tunes on here.
@remyvegamedia11 ай бұрын
I have to agree on the quality of the acoustic emulations. I think the pianos and rhodes are sort of unimpressive. Mostly in comparison to something like my Nautilus. I wouldn't waste my money on their "top level" piano/rhodes/strings. Not only that, they take up a ridiculous amount of the memory. The MPC can handle fine with 2gb of RAM until you bring the Fabric and Studio Strings into the mix. The Stage versions are good enough. Overpriced, still. As far as the synths, they're good. If the user understands how synthesis works it's pretty easy to get good sounds out of them. The presets are pretty obnoxious in a lot of cases though haha.

I've just put out a video if they're good enough for live use, definitely worth checking out!

Are these factory presets? Already loaded on board?
@TheChrisVella9 ай бұрын
They are factory but some of them are additional purchases. So not all loaded on board from the get go.

I like the MPC37 functionality but the sounds included out of the box are only mediocre. The extra packages are a diffinately an improvement but that's over $600 for a full set of the extra packages that's mostly just your basic piano, organ, and strings. Too expensive! 😢

Yeah it’s quite steep to own everything. I think this video is mainly showing off all the sounds available and then people are free to decided what they vibe with. It’s more of an example thing, but I know what you mean it is quite expensive to own all the additional sounds.

Ennnnh😴 the sounds of a synth no longer impress me (and these even less). Especially when most phone apps have equal to better sounds. For me it’s the functionality, usefulness and layout that really raise my eyebrow. That said, I’d buy this synth for 10/10 in all three of those categories.

Yeah I think it serves a specific function. And might not be for everybody even if you’ve worked on other systems/ DAW’s. But I think for what you get in the package it’s quite decent.

May be a matter of preference but i found this extremely ugly. I’d anyday prefer a white or a black. Is that available? Also hows the key feel compared to kronos (if u hv played)

I don't mind the colour tbh, most of the things I have are black or white so I found it quite nice to have something in red! But I believe thats the only colour.
